Storyline

Cody, a boy from Mugwomp Flats responds to a distress call about a trapped giant Golden Eagle called Marahute. Freeing her, he gains a close friendship with the bird. However, Cody is soon abducted by the murderous poacher, Percival McLeach, who is after that bird which is of a highly endangered species and therefore an extremely profitable quarry. In a panic, a mouse Cody freed from one of McLeach's traps sends a desperate call for help to the Rescue Aid Society in New York City who assigns their top agents, Miss Bianca and Bernard, to the task. With transportation provided by the goofy albatross, Wilbur, the agents arrive in Australia and link up with the RAS' local field operative, Jake the Kangaroo Rat. Together, the trio must race against time to find Cody, stop McLeach, and save Marahute. Written by Kenneth Chisholm <kchishol@rogers.com>

Trivia

The French Pop theme song "Bernard Et Bianca Au Pays Des Kangourous" (which can be heard during the ending credits of the French movie version) was sung by the beautiful Anne Meson-Poliakoff, who was known back then for being the new French Disney Ambassador for Disney parade (1988) French TV series with the famous Jean-Pierre Foucault from 1989 until 1994. The talented musicians who accompanied her included Patrice Tison on lead guitar, Bernard Paganotti on bass, Jean-Jacques Milteau on harmonica, Alex Perdigon, Kako Bessot and Patrick Bourgoin on brass ensemble and Charly Doll on drums & percussions. However she and the other musicians appear to be uncredited. See more »

Great Story towards Animals
8 July 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I have been watching this movie since I was a kid. Its a great movie. It shows a good background towards how to treat animals and how its not right to poach them like McCleach did and how you should always help them if there in terrible trouble. I cry a lot when I see this movie. I especially cry at the scene where McCleach captures the eagle. The ending I like because its real happy. The music goes real good with this movie. If anyone is looking for a movie thats good with comedy and with animal protection. Its this one definitely. Its says at the end Special Thanks to San Diego Wild Animal Park. Those of you that haven't watched this movie please watch it you will cry your eyes out.
