Didn't live up to the dictionary definition. I have seen Willie Nelson do a good job in a film or two, but this was one of his wooden indian episodes. I would say he needs to stick with singing, but since he falls short in that area also I'll simply claim he needs to stay with song writing. It was obvious early on who the killer was, and even more apparent where the story would end as Kris and crew ran about excitedly chasing the "elusive serial murderer" while keeping a wary eye on the wily Nelson who played a lovable criminal [innocent, of course]. Pass this one by and do something useful with your time. I should have.

Willie &criss figuring it out Texas style

The great movie you have really and Chris playing a Texas ranger and a safe tracker xcon Of course Willie is the xcon safe cracking slide of hand charming outlaw and Chris's is rip the Texas ranger worried father of two daughters trying to catch a sick serial killer that's to close to home . They roll around the central Texas hill country finding evidence tracking down leads before the killer strikes again when they end up in a biker bar an willie teaches the bikers how to play tough pool and ends up with a old Canon ball safe he cracks and finds out the real reason the leader of the pack wasn't wanting him to open the safe.

Its a fun movie and if your a nelson or stoferson fan then you'll enjoy and have a few laughs . And it's me on the bike in front of the biker bar had a great day as a extra.

Guilty Pleasure

Willie the outlaw the scamp lovable outlaw....the line between fiction and fact is at best blurry. Simply put he was placed to be himself. Kris Kristofferson a man troubled by strained relationships his own biography and story lend credibility to the story. For those Hill country Outlawsnatives of this section of Texas love the romp through familiar territory, the Salt Lick a real Barbque Joint, Robert Mueller Airportnow closed. As a Texas Ranger distant struggling with his own emotions Kris Kristofferson who wrote "Bobby McGee", "Help Me Make It ThroughThe Night" is very believable. The friendship the two have comes in the movie. Like other movies Kris Kristofferson played this is not high art this a picture show. For those in love and familiar with the Texashill country this is great romp. Forget the red hots and pop corn with acoke grab a ound of brisket a Shiner Bock prop your feet up and enjoy.

TWO POLAR OPPOSITES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LAW COME THROUGH FOR EACH OTHER

Warning: Spoilers
It's a TV movie, folks, not a big-budget superhero film or an art house film of pretentious twaddle, which are the two categories people shell out bucks to see in the multi-box theatres. And it's a damn good TV movie. Willie overplays Wily Coyote and Kris underplays Captain Strong and Silent Ranger-Dad, but it comes out even. There are some golden moments here: Willie teaching Kris's distressed older daughter how to dance; Kris loving up the widowed girlfriend; Willie in the biker bar; Kris and Willie flailing to a draw and Kristofferson staggering over to the cruiser, exhausted of both strength and patience, to tell the sleaze in Austin to come get the man he is framing; Willie giving up the chance to escape to tell Kristofferson that the dead girl is not his daughter; Kristofferson saving Nelson from the dogs and from the sleaze. I don't like this version of the Kris&Willie franchise which was set into motion by SONGWRITER as much as I like OUTLAW JUSTICE (mostly because watching the good-looking Kristofferson play a bad-ass -- a large black vulture who can scare people just by fixing them with a baleful stare -- is such a hoot), or even as much as I like ANOTHER PAIR OF ACES: THREE OF A KIND, but I kind of like watching them in the sequence they were made. Some funny moments, and some serious moments about integrity (even within unlikely people and/or in uneasy circumstances) and about families which succor madmen, and families which can heal. Put some popcorn in the microwave, pop a long-neck, and relax with this one on a DVD at home. It IS a guilty pleasure.
