In a 2009 interview with the Houston, Texas, magazine "OutSmart," Tom Hulce said that while they were shooting this movie outside of Atlanta, Georgia, there was a call for extras to appear in a Ku Klux Klan rally scene, and some of the potential extras brought their own personal Klan outfits.
