Storyline

As a young child Luther The Geek or "The Freak" witnesses a band of men goading a geek (a man who bites off chicken's heads and drinks the blood) into performing. In the ensuing hullabaloo, Luther bites his lip and likes the taste of blood. Flash forward some thirty years and a parole board is meeting to discuss Luther's release. It seems the cheeky blighter has been murdering folk in the meantime. A dopey parole board trainee sides with the liberals and so Luther is unleashed, except now he has a special pair of customised metal teeth. Luther then proceeds to "bite the heads off" of many hapless folk until the tense ending. This movie is most notable for it's bare dialogue, whole stretches pass without a sound. Most of the audio is composed of Luther clucking insanely like a chicken. The film is centred around a farm and the mother and daughter who live there. Other main characters include the daughter's dumb boyfriend and an inefficient local law officer. Written by Cameron Bell <u6b88@keele.ac.uk>

Very strange no-budget horror film
6 April 2008 | by (Worcester, MA) – See all my reviews

"Luther the Geek" is a rather puzzling no-budget horror film. The film confuses me because I'm not sure whether the filmmakers intended it as a straight horror film or as a twisted dark comedy, or maybe a little of both. It really isn't successful as either, but its worth watching once for horror and cult film fans. The reason why I wonder if its a comedy is because the concept seems absolutely ridiculous on paper (an escaped psycho with deadly dentures who clucks like a chicken) and the script is completely devoid of rational logic, yet the filmmakers seem to play it as a straight terror tale.

Still, the film itself isn't particularly well made. The acting is expectedly lousy, with the exception of Edward Terry as the central geek. The mother and daughter (Joan Roth and Stacy Haiduk) can't act to save their lives, but offer plenty of eye candy. There are several unintentional laughs, but they're dashed away by some absolutely sadistic sequences and twisted concepts. Its worth watching though for the sheer bizarre nature of the whole film. I mean, how many other chicken-clucking psycho films have you seen this year? (5/10)
