A Bloody Fight is about some hit-man who tries to retire from the life to cater to his stupid wife and obnoxious kid. But s*** hits the fan when his employer betrays him and kills his family and whatever and he seeks revenge.
As usual, this is a typical, unoriginal, uninspiring HK action film. You seen one, you seen them all. So despite this debauchery, A Bloody Fight is still entertaining for what it is. The story is coherent enough to follow even though it is mediocre at best. The acting is okay which does feature some familiar actors from the Shaw Brothers lore like Gorden Lu and Lar Ka Leung and stuff.
The action is where this movie shines, of course. It is a combination of martial arts and gun fighting. The marital arts action is surprisingly good particularly on the part Lau Ka Leung. The bloody violence is high and there is a couple of neat kills.
The soundtrack is also worth mentioning because they actually used the theme song from the movie Halloween. It didn't quite fit for the film's climax but eh! Also you'll hear a Chinese version of the song Final Countdown. That was f****** funny.
In Conclusion: Nothing new, nothing special but it's a plausible HK action film. Recommended to HK psychopaths.
