Is a Hawkman Movie to Follow Green Lantern?

Are Warner brothers and DC planning a Hawkman movie after Green Lantern? According to Pajiba, the winged hero is next in DC's line of Justice League heroes to get his own movie. Apparently, Warners is describing the project as "part Indiana Jones, part Da Vinci Code, and part Ghost," which is a confusing trio to use in describing another movie. Does this mean Hawkman will be deciphering ancient codes to find an archeological treasure while speaking though Whoopi Goldberg?
DC and Warners have long wanted to develop a Justice League movie, though they may be trying to launch individual movies first, like Marvel has done with their Avengers characters. Producer Dan Lin, who was at one point working on the Justice League movie, told Collider that a plan from DC will be announced early next year.
[Justice League's] on-hold right now as DC sorts out its strategy but as you've talked to

It was a rough year.
As we look back at 2009, it seems to be the year death came
calling. Celebrities young and old passed away, each dimming the lights of
Hollywood and Broadway just a bit with their passing. It seems fitting to pause
for just a moment before we go off to celebrate the end of 2009, and remember
those we lost.
She will always be golden.
Bea Arthur
Some remember Bea from her Broadway roles, and others for
being a perfect foil to Archie Bunker. But ask any gay man about Bea, and you’ll
see a mist form in their eyes as they recall her as one of the surrogate grandmothers
living in a house together in Florida, forever golden.
No one quite understands the connection so many of us feel
to the Golden Girls, and why it’s still so strong many years later, but let's just

Mo'Nique Seems To Be Shunning Press Again For Precious

Several weeks ago we would have told you that Mo’Nique was a “shoo-in’ to get an Academy Award nomination for her work in Precious, and she was going to walk away with the Award and be the 2nd African American comedic actress since Whoopi Goldberg’s performance in Ghost to do so for Best Supporting Actress. Now, after today’s news and rumors floating around we are not so sure of anything.
What are we talking about? Well, according to numerous reports and sources, MoNique has decided to skip the New York Film Critics Awards next month, which is a great press opportunity for every actor associated with any film right before Awards season and during voting season. It is also a pivotal stop for those trying to win Any award during award season because those NY Critics have a lot of “pull” and more towards the votes that are cast.

Moore Defends Herself Over Age Jibes

Demi Moore has defended the way she looks in photos for a second time, after a fan criticised her for looking "old."
The Ghost star posted a picture of herself from a recent photo shoot for Harper's Bazaar magazine on her Twitter.com page, writing, "Had the priviledge (sic) of working with a giraffe yesterday he was beautiful gentle and so amazing!"
But Moore was shocked to receive a series of unfriendly messages, with one post reading, "Sorry but you look old. Especially your neck & checks at the second shot."
The actress was quick to respond to the remark, retorting, "I'm 47 how am I supposed to look?"
Last month, Moore was at the centre of controversy over her covershoot for America's W magazine, which saw her looking super-slim in a revealing, skintight green dress.
Critics hit out at Moore, claiming bosses at the publication had airbrushed the actress beyond recognition, but she insisted the pictures were untouched.
And Ashton Kutcher's wife refuses to let her followers put her down. After one fan posted a message, writing, "Sorry Demi that your self esteem is so low you can't admit to a little Photoshopping (airbrushing). And Ghost sucked."
Moore simply replied, "Thank you."

Demi Moore can't win. Her recent W cover was widely regarded as a Photoshop disaster, though she maintained it was her real body. Now she's getting flack for an unretouched photo--for looking old.
On Wednesday Demi shared an outtake from a Santa Monica photoshoot for Harper's Bazaar.
"Had the priviledge of working with a giraffe yesterday he was beautiful gentle and so amazing!" she tweeted along with the picture below. Some responses were unforgiving:
"sorrydemi that your self esteem is so low you can't admit to a little Photoshopping. And Ghost sucked," one follower wrote.
"sorry but you look old. specially your neck & cheecks at the second shot.." added another.
"I'm 47 how am I supposed to look?" Demi responded.
Demi and Ashton have long been consumed with cultivating their Twitter presence. A couple of weeks ago they planned dinner and

Perhaps an even more unlikely pair than Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher -- Demi and giraffe? The long-necked mammal was spotted alongside the uber-milf/model/actress on a Santa Monica beach, an elaborate and living prop for Moore's photoshoot for Harper's Bazaar.
Sadly, Demi's jungle love affair was crassly interrupted by some unfriendly Tweets which called the actress out for, god forbid, starting to look her age.

The Good Wife Review: "Lifeguard"

This episode of The Good Wife was a great showcase for the entire cast.
What began as a seemingly simple case for Alicia led to the discovery that a judge, and long-time friend of Will's, was as corrupt as they come. This storyline was set against an offer made to Diane to leave the firm and become a judge.
Read our recap of "Lifeguard" to fully understand how every character at the firm intersected on this case.
The installment highlighted every positive aspect of The Good Wife, most notably its solid cast, straightforward storytelling and mature point of view. There are no special effects here, no dumbing down of plots for the audience, no need for surprise endings.
There are simply solid stories and slow character build-up. There are also realistic relationships. Will and Diane, for instance, are clearly not good friends. But there's a healthy amount of respect there

They can be harmful. They can be helpful. They can be annoying as all get-out. The film world has given us everything in the spectrum of ghost virtue from Bruce Willis to the creepy girl from Ringu. Today, in honor of The Lovely Bones, we salute the good guys, the friendly ghosts who ride high along with Casper in the act of moral solidarity.
10. Heart And Souls
Anything starring Robert Downey, Jr. is worth checking out in my book, but this comedy was surprisingly enjoyable. Downey plays a guy used by four ghosts to reconcile their lives before moving on into the afterlife. The catch is, Downey is less than enthusiastic, but finds himself the catalyst for something bigger than himself and goes along for the ride. The cast is comprised of several well-known actors making the film that much more enjoyable.

Kristen Stewart's 'Welcome To The Rileys' Role Is Only The Latest Fictional Stripper In Hollywood

With pictures of Kristen Stewart as a stripper in the upcoming Sundance player "Welcome to the Rileys" hitting the Internet last week, we decided to take a look back at five Hollywood actresses who starred as a stripper in the past, and how the decision impacted their careers. Some were launched into success stories, while others took a sharp downward turn. Hopefully, Stewart will take some pointers from those who came before her and avoid squashing the success "The Twilight Saga" has given her. If that's even possible.
One unusual fact that's worth noting: three of the five names on this list -- Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan and Heather Graham -- all followed up their stripper appearances with roles in the Emilio Estevez-directed film, "Bobby." It's hard to say what that means, though three counts as a trend. Apparently, fake stripping drives female actors to Emilio Estevez. Go figure.

Demi Moore Narrates Hard-hitting Video About Death Of Young Mum

Demi Moore has joined a campaign to highlight the plight of abused teenage girls and young mothers in the Third World.
The actress has narrated a harrowing new public awareness video, which focuses on the story of a young African woman's pregnancy nightmare.
The video aired on Oprah Winfrey's U.S. talk show on Tuesday.
In the hard-hitting film about the woman called Prudence, the Ghost star reveals, "An African woman has one chance in 20 of dying in pregnancy. In much of the world, the most dangerous thing a woman can do is become pregnant.
"This is Prudence, a 24-year-old mother of three from a remote village in Cameroon. After suffering three days of agonising labour, a midwife sat on her stomach in a desperate attempt to force the baby out, but instead ruptured her uterus.
"Hoping to save the baby, Prudence's family found someone to drive her 75 miles to the hospital on a motorcycle."
Moore explains Prudence's story was picked up by acclaimed New York Times journalist Nicholas Kristof, who found the desperate mum lying ignored and untreated in an empty hospital room two days after she was admitted.
She adds, "The now-dead foetus was rotting inside her belly."
Moore reveals Prudence needed a blood transfusion to save her life and an emergency Caesarean section to remove the baby, which was slowly poisoning her. But the doctor refused to operate until he was paid $100 (£62.50).
Kristof, who filmed the video, reveals he and his crew "chipped in" to pay the doctor and offered his blood for the transfusion - but the medic left the hospital for the day without operating.
Moore picks up the story: "The next morning Nick found Prudence lying in her own vomit and her urine bag overflowing. The doctor had finally performed the operation and there seemed to be a bit of hope for Prudence, but she slipped into a coma and, without antibiotics, infection raged throughout her body."
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Kristof, who chronicles the plight of struggling women in the world's poorest countries in his New York Times column and in new book Half The Sky, adds, "It's completely unnecessary that that mother of three died."
Moore isn't the only celebrity who has been moved by Kristof's crusade to highlight the plight of women killed, murdered and neglected in the Third World - George Clooney admits the journalist's work inspired him to visit Darfur, Sudan to find out more about the horrors the writer described.
Clooney has since become an outspoken campaigner, fighting the genocide in the Sudan. The actor returned to the region with Kristof earlier this year.
Ben Affleck also accompanied the journalist to the Congo and agreed to film and narrate a video about the country's rape crisis.
His harrowing tale focused on a 41-year-old teacher who had been beaten and raped and left for dead by soldiers. Locals in her village had deemed her unfit to wed and refused to help her. She was dying of starvation when Affleck and Kristof found her and begged a villager to take her to a hospital.
Like Prudence, the woman died weeks later.

Swayze Chose To Die At Home

Patrick Swayze went against the advice of doctors by choosing to die at home, according to his widow Lisa Niemi.
The actor lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in September and passed away at the couple's house in Los Angeles with his family by his side.
Niemi reveals doctors wanted to keep the Ghost star in hospital, but her husband was adamant he wanted to die in the comfort of his own home.
She tells U.S. talk show host Larry King, "(He died) at home. And that was a big decision, to bring him home. There were some people encouraging (us) to keep him in the hospital, just simply because usually it's easier on the family."
And Niemi admits the actor was fully aware of what was happening when the end came.
She adds, "You know, even then (on the day he died), we didn't say it out loud. And I actually talked to a nurse about that, and I said, 'We haven't really talked about it and I haven't really said (anything). Are we both looking at the same thing here?' And she said, 'Trust me, he knows. He knows.'"
