The film was released on Eid festival in 1990 and proved a blockbuster.
Meenakshi Seshadri was director Kalpataru's favourite actress and he took her in his many films. This film was a family drama film and proved to be a great hit further solidifying Meenakshi's stature as a major leading lady.
Director Kalptaru had turned producer in early 1990's with a film titled Kisi Se Dil Lagake Dekho with Shahrukh Khan, Ayesha Jhulka and Madhoo, directed by Kalpataru himself with music by Rajesh Roshan and the audio cassettes was released. This film was completed but remains unreleased, it was said Shahrukh Khan didn't want this film to release as this film was made before his hit films Deewana and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.
Despite this film being a very successful film, Anil Kapoor and Firoz Nadiadwala didn't work with the director Kalpataru again.
This film was remade in Telugu as "Attintlo Adde Mogudu" (1991).
