Keifer Sutherland returns in new TV spot for ‘Flatliners’

14 September 2017 5:01 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Check out this brand-new TV spot – featuring original Flatliners star Kiefer Sutherland – for director Niels Arden Oplev’s upcoming reboot/redux-come-sequel of Flatliners, which this time round stars Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons.

In Flatliners, five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly dangerous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.

New TV spot for Flatliners features the returning Kiefer Sutherland

14 September 2017 3:25 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Last week we got a final trailer for Flatliners [watch it here], and now new TV spot has arrived online for the upcoming sci-fi thriller reboot/sequel which features a very brief look at Kiefer Sutherland in his returning role as Nelson Wright; check it out below…

“I play a professor at the medical university,” Sutherland told Metro. “It is never stated but it will probably be very clearly understood that I’m the same character I was in the original Flatliners but that I have changed my name and I’ve done some things to move on from the experiments that we were doing in the original film. I loved making the first film and when I was asked if I would be interested in taking part in this, it didn’t take more than a minute to say yes.”

New Flatliners TV spot offers glimpse at Kiefer Sutherland's return

13 September 2017 9:38 AM, PDT | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

Fans of the original Flatliners don’t seem too pumped for the upcoming sequel, a big reason being the new film uses the same name and premise, coming off as more of a remake than a continuation. You may not be able to change the fact the film is coming, but one aspect that may ease the burden is the fact the movie will have an appearance from the original’s star – Kiefer Sutherland. The actor will reprise his role as Dr. Nelson Wright in the film, and a new TV... Read More »

Kiefer Sutherland Returns in New Flatliners TV Trailer

12 September 2017 5:56 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Sony Pictures has released a brand new TV spot for their highly-anticipated Flatliners remake, which gives us our first glimpse at Kiefer Sutherland. The actor revealed in an interview last summer that this new project is actually a sequel, and that he is reprising his role from the original as Nelson Wright, although he hinted that his character may have changed his name. We only see him for a brief moment, and we don't hear him speak any lines, so it still remains to be seen how large a role he plays in this project.

The TV spot debuted on the Sony Pictures Canada YouTube channel, with the Kiefer Sutherland cameo coming literally in the first second of the video. We can see that he's sporting all-white hair and glasses, wearing a lab coat under his suit, with some brain x-rays seen in the background. While we only see him for a second, »

There’s a pretty huge surprise in the opening seconds of the new Flatliners television spot as Kiefer Sutherland makes a surprise appearance! Kiefer starred as Nelson in the original 1990 sci-fi/thriller of the same name and is clearly playing one of the head doctors above the new group of medical students featuring Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, and […] »

Third & Final Trailer for Niels Arden Oplev's 'Flatliners' Horror Remake

8 September 2017 2:51 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Relax. Enjoy the experience..." You haven't lived until you've watched this trailer! Sony has revealed one final trailer for the remake of Flatliners, about medical students who temporarily stop their hearts in order to experience the afterlife. We've already seen two other trailers before - the first one and another UK one - and this final one is much more intense. The cast of Flatliners includes Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, and Kiersey Clemons. The original was directed by Joel Schumacher and was released in 1990, but hasn't aged well over the years though it does still have a following. Danish filmmaker Niels Arden Oplev is at the helm of this one, and seems to be giving us a more thrilling take than the original. Is anyone planning to see this? I'll wait until the first reviews land, as I'm not sure. Thoughts? Here's the third and final »

Latest Flatliners trailer promises that you haven't lived until you've died

7 September 2017 4:45 PM, PDT | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

Although Flatliners appears to be a remake of the 1990 Joel Schumacher film, it's actually a sequel thanks to the inclusion of Keifer Sutherland who will be reprising his role of Nelson Wright from the first film. Even so, you'd be forgiven for continuing to label the Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) directed flick as a remake as it seems to thrust the same concept on a... Read More »

New ‘Flatliners’ Trailer Suggests You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Died

7 September 2017 9:49 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

“You haven’t lived until you’ve died:” oxymoron or an admittedly great tagline for what is an unnecessary, possibly terrible sequel? Either way, the new trailer for “Flatliners” hints at a sense of imagination that its predecessor lacked, if only in the film’s marketing.

Directed by Niels Arden Oplev (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”), “Flatliners” is a follow-up the 1990 Joel Schumacher film of the same name, about a group of young medical students who subject themselves to near-death experiments.
