Heidi Montag feels 'like Edward Scissorhands' and has the scars to prove it

22 December 2010 1:18 PM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

After all the plastic surgery she has done and famously declaring that she wanted her breasts enlarged to "double 'H' for Heidi" on the last season of MTV's "The Hills," Heidi Montag, 24, is now having regrets.

"I would love to not be 'plastic girl' or whatever they call me," she admits in the current issue of Life & Style magazine. "Surgery ruined my career and my personal life and just brought a lot of negativity into my world. I wish I could jump into a time machine and take it all back. Instead, I'm always going to feel like Edward Scissorhands."

While this recent admission may just be another ploy for attention, it's definitely a step in the right direction for the reality star in our opinion. In a photo shoot, Montag reveals "several unsightly scars, red inflammation and uneven body parts."

"The big dark mark from my chin reduction is probably the most noticeable, »

Heidi Montag feels like "Edward Scissorhands". The reality TV star underwent 10 cosmetic surgery procedures in one day in November 2009 and she now feels she looks worse than she did before the operations, likening her scarring to that of the disfigured man-made robot creature depicted by Johnny Depp.

"Parts of my body definitely look worse than they did pre-surgery. This is not what I signed up for," she said. "I would love to not be 'plastic girl' or whatever they call me. Surgery ruined my career and my personal life and just brought a lot of negativity into my world. I wish I could jump into a time machine and take it all back. Montag Shows Off Her Surgery Scars

21 December 2010 2:06 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Reality TV star Heidi Montag is showing off her plastic surgery scars to U.S. publication Life & Style after confessing the massive makeover that drastically changed her look has ruined her life.

The Hills star famously underwent 10 procedures in a day and now deeply regrets the decision - because her scars are still visible, she's in pain and she's tired of being hailed "the plastic girl".

Montag tells the publication, "The big dark mark from my chin reduction is probably the most noticeable (scar). But the absolute worst is on my breasts, and the scariest is below my butt cheek. People have fewer scars from car accidents than I have on my body.

Here's a look back at the third weekend of December through the years: 5 Years Ago - 2005 King Kong swung into theaters with $50.1 million over the weekend (for a $66.2 million five-day launch), which was big but not commensurate with the hype, especially in light of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe's larger opening the weekend before. In second, Narnia retreated 51 percent to $31.8 million, whle The Family Stone debuted to a solid $12.5 million in third. * Weekend Report: 'King Kong' Mighty But No Monster 10 Years Ago - 2000 What Women Want knew what audiences wanted, raking in $33.6 million. That was the highest-grossing December opening yet, topping Scream 2, and was the second highest-grossing ever for a romantic comedy, behind Runaway Bride. Dude, Where's My Car? started in second with a sweet $13.85 million, while How the Grinch Stole Christmas was right behind with $13.8 million in its fifth weekend. »

Ryder Worries About Turning 40

17 December 2010 5:26 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Winona Ryder is dreading her upcoming 40th birthday - because she has been "warned" about reaching the milestone age throughout her Hollywood career.

The Edward Scissorhands star, who has been making movies since the 1980s, will celebrate the landmark next October.

But Ryder has long feared moving into her forties, because so many people told her it would mark a downturn in her career.

She tells GQ, "I'm at that age I've been warned my whole life about."

But the actress is determined to follow in the footsteps of her idol Meryl Streep, who has carved out a stellar career in her later years despite feeling abandoned by Hollywood in her late 30s.

She adds, "It's hard to imagine a time where Meryl Streep wasn't the first choice for everything, but I was reading some article, and she said something like, 'Yeah, when I was around 38, 39, I turned to my husband and said, 'Should we just call it a day, or should we try to kick the can down the road?'

"It was so weird to me to think about movies without her in them. But a lot of great actresses have chosen that." »

Welcome to Framed, a column at Cinematical that runs every Thursday and celebrates the artistry of cinema -- one frame at a time.

It's hard to believe that Tim Burton's 'Edward Scissorhands' was released 20 years ago this month. The film was a project of firsts for the director, marking the start of a career-long collaboration with partner in crime, Johnny Depp, and the first time working with cinematographer Stefan Czapsky. While it was hard for some Burtonites to find anything redeeming about his latest film, the Add-riddled 'Alice in Wonderland,' his 1990 fantasy flick about an artificial man-child who is the beast that wins the beauty remains a fan favorite. It's Burton's most personal film to date, (themes about the artistic outsider and alienated, awkward teenager abound) -- flooded with unforgettable images that transport you into a quirky, pop-goth fairytale.

Dani Filth Talks Cradle of Filth, Music, Movies, and More

15 December 2010 1:09 AM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Ever since forming in Suffolk in 1991, Dani Filth's Cradle of Filth have been one of England’s highest profile extreme metal bands. Over the years their musical style has evolved from a classic black metal sound to a cleaner, more "produced" mixture of Gothic metal, symphonic black metal and other extreme metal styles. Thematically the band’s imagery has pretty much remained the same: one that is heavily influenced by Gothic literature, poetry, mythology, sex and horror films.

In early November, 2010, after having already released eight albums and assorted E.P.s, they put out their newest record, the lushly evocative Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, which is a concept album based on the legend of the lascivious demoness and wife of the Biblical Adam, Lilith. Within the narrative of the album are references to diverse topics (such as Greek mythology, The Knights Templar and Carmelite Nuns) woven into a »

God Damn Us, Everyone: The Essential Christmas Guide Part 2

10 December 2010 3:09 PM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Although we’ve already had a good week’s Christmas viewing, there’s still a long, icy road to walk (or sit down and watch). So, as always, it’s good to plan ahead.

The problem with starting your festive viewing so early is that you run the risk of getting overloaded too quickly. It’s entirely possible to get ‘Christmased’ out well ahead of the big day. Four weeks of festive cheer, joy to the world, and God bless us everyone is enough to grate on even the most merry of souls. That being the case, week two of our festive viewing needs to take an alternative route. There’s plenty of material within the Christmas canon that subverts the standard yuletide traditions, and some of it even quite deliciously dark. So it’s time to turn to one of the most celebrated of gothic filmmakers in modern times, »

Ryder Mistrusts 'Normal' Men

10 December 2010 4:11 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Winona Ryder refuses to date anyone outside of the movie industry because she mistrusts "normal" guys.

The Edward Scissorhands beauty has been linked to a number of famous hunks over the years and was engaged to Johnny Depp in the early 1990s.

And Ryder admits she is reluctant to become involved with anyone who isn't part of Hollywood after a chance encounter with a fan left her "mistrustful" of men and their motives.

She tells Elle magazine, "I remember being at this bar called Tosca in San Francisco, and I met this guy one night. He was really cute, and we were talking, and then, like, he just said something about how he had always had a crush on me. And I was suddenly mistrustful about why he was talking to me. I wanted to be just a normal girl flirting with a normal guy.

"It's like you meet people, and they know this stuff about you. It's why you want to meet somebody who's in the same business, only because they understand more. But you don't necessarily want to be with another actor." »

Johnny Depp Has A Rendezvous With MTV's 'Tourist' Guest Correspondent In Paris

His shirt was tattered in a fashion-statement kind of way, and his tan was very Jack Sparrow. My encounter with him seemed way too casual for it to be a real live interview with one of the most prominent actors of our era, Johnny Depp. Yet there I was, sitting across from the erstwhile Edward Scissorhands and Mad Hatter, chatting with him at the Paris press junket for his new movie, "The Tourist."

When I mentioned I was from Miami, Johnny told me that he used to live in Miramar, Florida -- a mere 20 miles from my home. And when he smiled, I caught a glimpse of Jack Sparrow's gold teeth. A moment later, the chatting ceased so we could begin the four-minute interview.

Johnny's character in "The Tourist," Frank Tupelo, isn't a typical role for him. As an ordinary math teacher from Wisconsin, »
