Quotes

Lizzie Potts: No! Annabelle! Don't play with the space heater coil. Piglet, if you breath gas it will tie up all your available hemoglobin and there will be none left for oxygen transfer. Your lips and nail beds will turn cherry red and you'll die of carbon monoxide poisoning. I like to acquaint her with consequences.

One of the most enjoyable romantic comedies I have seen in the 90's
8 June 1999 | by (Croatia) – See all my reviews

Rarely I have seen a movie in which I enjoyed every minute so much. I watched the movie synchronized in German language, which I do not speak., but it did not make any difference. In fact, I was even more concentrated on acting, which was excellent. Steve Guttenberg, Jami Gertz and Shelley Long were the perfect choice for their roles. They carry the story much easier than most of their dozens-of-millions colleagues which are supposed to be the best advertisement for the movie (and usually the only reason to go and see the one).

I liked the humor, which like everything else is so simple, and therefore perfect. Although I could not understand the word that was said, it's the atmosphere that kept me attached to the screen from the first minute. The story of a girl who dreams of the kind of guy, as perfect, passionate and loving as those in the love stories she enjoys reading, and a guy who does everything to be like that (otherwise, he is too common and not interesting at all) has been told many times, but this is my favorite. It does prove, after all, that most of the times the perfect guy ("my ideal type") is actually the guy who is right there all the time.
