The movie begins with Don Juan escaping from Pergatory in order to do a deed good enough to elevate him to heaven. He stumbles into a group working on a play about Don Juan and he is mistaken for the actor who plays the role of Don Juan---who, of course, looks exactly like the actual Don Juan. Then, a series of not terribly funny bits ensue. There is a lot of bawdiness and goofiness, but it appears to be funny and titillating only to the average 13 year-old. Believe me--this movie just misses the mark again and again.
For a MUCH, MUCH better movie, see Ingmar Bergman's movie about Don Juan (THE DEVIL'S EYE). In this film, Don Juan is sent by Satan to despoil a seemingly incorruptible virgin. While this isn't a great film, it's head and shoulders above DON JUAN MY LOVE and is well worth watching.
