For a independent film, this was very well done. The acting was good, the story was quite interesting, and the effects are pretty good for what they must have cost, but it got a bit slow around the middle. However, the finale was quite suspenseful, and makes up for its slow pace. If you are a horror/sci-fi fan with 90 minutes or so to kill, give this a go, or catch the above-mentioned originals.
