Somewhat confused...
the_greenflash15 June 2000
As with most Manga/Anime the plot is somewhat confused. This implementation is cut together from the last few episodes of a series. Unfortunately, the all-important first episodes that explain how the protaganists came to be on a spacecraft undergoing some form of training, are lost. In the place of an explanation we are subjected to numerous disorienting flashbacks. As with most of these Japanese animations the combatants come together to form a large robot assembled from parts, they fight accompanied by protracted screams of instruction/anguish.

The English dub that I watched was very telling of its origins. But the voice artists seem to put on almost convincing mid-Atlantic accents.

Dangaio part 1

I've seen all three installments of this series (there are only three, with rumors of more to come). The story start in the middle, something like Star Wars, as the story progresses you learn the who's how's and why's of the complete story. In part one we learn that our 4 main characters have no idea who or what they are at first. They begin their new live under duress, being challenged to see if the supposed maker, made quality goods. Having succeeded at they're first challenge their maker informs them they will now be sold the an intergalactic Godfather of sorts called the Banker. The lead character Mia Alice is the first to have a recollection of having a past. This leads the group to rebel against their supposed maker. Needless to say no one is happy least of all the Banker, who sets about trying to get his property back. Problem is when the four form the Super Robot Dangaio, wanting and getting are two different things. Anyone who enjoys Mecha Anime will enjoy this. Even those who don't might be pleasantly surpassed. The 2nd. & 3rd. are just as enjoyable.
