During the Cultural Revolution, Chairman Mao was portrayed as a military genius made every right decision. This movie accurately shows the way he really was: he was not perfect after all, and in fact, made the wrong decision about the war and it was his subordinates who argued against him and corrected the mistake, the Chairman was like just any person.
