Kim McGuire, ‘Hatchet-Face’ Actress in ‘Cry-Baby,’ Dies at 60
Kim McGuire, who played Mona “Hatchet-Face” Malnorowski in the John Waters film “Cry-Baby,” died Wednesday at a Florida hospital. She was 60.

McGuire was hospitalized on Tuesday with pneumonia, but did not respond to treatment and went into cardiac arrest, her husband Gene Piotrowsky told TMZ.

McGuire also tweeted the news, writing “Today is a very sad day. Kim ‘hatchet-face’ McGuire, my best friend and the love of my life, passed [sic] away this afternoon. I love you so much.”

A GoFundMe page was set up a by a friend on Wednesday night to aid Piotrowsky.

McGuire was born in New Orleans in 1955. Her first role was in 1990’s “Cry-Baby,” starring Johnny Depp as a teen able to cry on command.

Amy Locane-Bovenizer, who appeared on the first season of Fox's Melrose Place and once acted opposite Johnny Depp in the 1990 John Waters movie Cry-Baby, has been sentenced to three years for a 2010 drunk driving accident that took the life of another woman. The sentence, far lighter than the 10-year maximum sought by prosecutors, was received with outrage from the family of 60-year-old victim Helene Seeman.
