Crash and Burn: the little-known story of racing legend Tommy Byrne

30 December 2016 9:23 AM, PST | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

Chances are you won’t have heard of the mercurial Tommy Byrne. Born in the Republic of Ireland in 1958, Tommy Byrne could, and really should, have had a glittering career in Formula One. Tommy was brash, he was cocky, he liked a drink, he liked the girls, and he ruffled feathers in the establishment, but there was no denying his incredible talent. Maybe Tommy was destined to be a racing driver – after all, he was born in the back of a car speeding its way to the hospital. Crash and Burn is a film about Tommy’s life and more »

The Killer Robots! Crash And Burn Indie Robo-Spectacle Arrives July 15th!

12 July 2016 7:00 PM, PDT | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

You may have seen the trailer for The Killer Robots! Crash and Burn on this very site a few months back. The 101 minute feature is slated to drop on iTunes and Google Play this Friday, July 15th. Full disclosure - I did direct this film and wish to take this opportunity to introduce it to the world. It is a micro-budget sci-fi epic about a universe of warring robots and mechanical monsters. A lot of time, duct tape and recyclables went into the making of the movie and it just recently won for Best Fantasy at the Supercon Geek Film Festival. Check out the 42 second spot below for a sample....

The boys of country and the boys of pop sure do make great music together. Thomas Rhett and Nick Jonas have teamed up to perform on an upcoming episode of Cmt Crossroads, while Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley has joined forces with Rob Thomas for a future episode as well. Thomas Rhett and Jonas are up first, blending their styles on each of their hits, including Jonas' "Chains," "Jealous" and "Close," and "Die a Happy Man," "Crash and Burn" and "T-Shirt" from Thomas Rhett. Kelley and Thomas harmonize on Thomas' "Lonely No More," "Pieces" and "Smooth." Kelley also gets »

Thomas Rhett Jokes About His Recent Stage Tumble: 'None of the Fans Tried to Help Me Up - But They All Took Selfies'

23 February 2016 3:00 PM, PST | | See recent news »

Thomas Rhett celebrated National Margarita Day and his fourth and fifth No. 1 singles - "Crash and Burn" and "Die a Happy Man" - with a couple hundred friends and a couple rounds of the drink du jour at Nashville's Bartaco on Monday. The weather was damp and dreary, but inside the new 12South neighborhood hot spot he and wife Lauren frequent for the bar (they love the jalapeño margarita) and the tacos (duck for him, pork belly for her), the vibe was as warm and laid back as a day at the beach. Thanks @crownroyal for helping us celebrate two #1's last night! »

Killer Robots! Crash And Burn Looks Amazingly Bonkers!

27 January 2016 10:27 AM, PST | | See recent QuietEarth news »

What you are about to see will excite, amaze and confound you. It's a labour of love called Killer Robots! Crash and Burn and its creator, Can Gaffin is obviously a mad person.

According to Gaffin, filming on the labour pf love project started in 2010 and was completed on weekends over the next 5 years. The various characters were all filmed separately and composited together later in post.

The spectacular costumes and miniatures were made with recycled bottles, toys, packaging and plasticware. Wow.

Robot mercenaries are sent on a mission to activate a machine that will bring about a new age of enlightenment.

Two Minutes Of Madness In The Full The Killer Robots! Crash And Burn! Trailer

23 January 2016 11:00 AM, PST | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

Full marks to Florida based scifi themed musical act The Killer Robots. They've obviously gone above and beyond to create an absolutely gonzo visual aesthetic around themselves and their music and they're splashing it all over the big screen with their upcoming feature film The Killer Robots! Crash And Burn!Fans of Manborg and like minded retro-kitsch take note here because this is a cinematic oddity of the highest order, one steeped in video games, 1950s scifi, drive in movie pulp and the sheer wonder of being a child and realizing that if you paint this box (and yourself) silver then hey! Presto! You're a robot! And robots are awesome! We shared an earlier teaser for this a little while back but the full trailer has now...
