Controversial, Sensitive Drama
7 October 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

When a middle aged family man attends the funeral of his long estranged Father, he is introduced to his much younger sister. A sibling he never knew existed.

Over time, they try to get to know each other as brother and sister. Instead, they find they have much in common which leads to attraction and eventually a romantic attachment.

Eventually, they want to start a permanent relationship and must somehow make their families and society in general to understand their feelings.

From what I remember, this story was based on a real incident in the UK that caused quite a commotion at the time.

This is a well written and acted drama that unfortunately has a very short running time that leaves a few story points unanswered. Why was the man's wife suspicious of his sister upon meeting her? More to the point, why would a man with a seemingly happy family life give everything up for such an unusual relationship? The final heartbreaking scenes try to give some answers but also attempts to leave things to the viewers judgment.
