The Bride In Black is a fun made for television movie with two terrific actors,Susan Lucci and David Soul.I saw this movie when it originally aired on television ,I really liked it a lot.I am a big fan of Susan Lucci and David Soul, and I thought they were terrific together in this movie. This is a made for television mystery suspense movie with a wonderful love story attached to it.It was very corny, but that is what I liked about it.Susan Lucci came across beautifully as Rose the beautiful Italian lady.David Soul was very funny and very charming in this role. That is not something that you see very often.David Soul usually plays very serious roles.Finola Hughes plays a rather mysterious sinister lady in this movie, and she is always fun to watch.Finola Hughes and Susan Lucci were together in another made for TV movie called Haunted by Her Past.I highly recommend this movie to people who like romance and mystery, and just want to relax.I have this movie on VHS tape.

Coulda Been Better, 16 December 2001

Just like 89,000 other movies, this could have been better. The first half hour or so saw too much mushy gushy lovey dovey setup. Aside from that, the mystery of David Soul's character and all that was going on was good enough to keep my attention (I was never eagerly awaiting the end so that's definitely a plus for a movie of any kind.) Thankfully, none of it was really being given away as many movies like this tend to do. It was a little lighter than it could have been, though. To make it better it could have been a little deeper in the mystery, a tad more intrigue with a more involved twist and turn or two rather than one newly discovered fact after another without anything thrown inbetween. Oh well, what do you expect, it's a Made-For-TV movie. It's very difficult to find one of those to call very good but this one is surely better than many. Probably one of Susan Lucci's better pieces of work. Overall: a grade of "C+" - one thumb up.
