Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

This series' TV-MA rating is partially due to it having some sexual content. For example, it has a plot that sometimes involves prostitution. However, its actual sex scenes are few, brief, and limited to kissing. As for nudity, its characters are sometimes shown naked from the shoulders up, or else in suggestive lingerie.

Spoiler: A teenage girl character is revealed to be a prostitute who had sex with several other characters.

The series has a lot of love triangles and rectangles (and more) in it.

One character's secret habit of sometimes cross-dressing when in private is compromised after he unknowingly becomes the subject of a covertly photographed sexual situation.

(First Season)

A teenage girl is found dead wrapped in plastic on a riverside.

A man shoots another man.

(Second Season)

A character is shown being killed.

Two men fight.

A few characters are shown being shot.

A woman is seen being stabbed in a flashback.

This show does contain a few violent scenes. A few are shown. Non graphic though

Season 2 is more violent

There is mild profanity in this series. Comparable to a PG rating in regards to profanity.

Some alcohol consumption and smoking. Some drinking and smoking by teenagers and positive characters.

One of the themes of this TV series is drugs. Teenagers using drug is implied. Taking any drug is never shown however.

"Twin Peaks" can be a dark show, but is fairly light hearted. It isn't too strong in any content section, however there are some violent scenes, a few murder flashbacks and a few scenes where drug taking is implied.

Suggested MPAA Rating: R for disturbing violent and sexual content, some bloody images, some language, drug material, and smoking - some involving teenagers.
