Madchen Amick has joined the cast of ABC's new domestic comedy Freddie, starring Freddie Prinze Jr. Amick (Twin Peaks) will play the role of the lead character's impulsive sister-in-law. She replaces actress Megyn Price, who played the role in the series' pilot. Freddie, from executive producer Bruce Helford and Warner Bros. TV, is set to bow on ABC this fall in the Wednesday 9:30 p.m. time slot. »

Lynch Film a Cannes Mystery

Eccentric movie-maker David Lynch is so keen to keep the details of his new movie under wraps at the Cannes Film Festival, he has insisted that all posters remain covered until the film airs. The Twin Peaks director has corralled a group of his regular actors, like Laura Dern and Harry Dean Stanton, and teamed them up with Jeremy Irons for the mysterious thriller, reportedly called Inland Empire. The film will be unveiled at Cannes later this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lynch reveals, "It's about a woman in trouble, and it's a mystery, and that's about all I want to say about it." »

Watts Eternally Grateful to Lynch

Hollywood beauty Naomi Watts will always be grateful to maverick film-maker David Lynch for recognizing her talent and casting her in critically acclaimed movie Mulholland Drive. The Australian actress, who has since garnered rave reviews for her performances in The Ring and 21 Grams, spent her twenties 'almost' landing major roles until the Twin Peaks director recruited the then 33-year-old. Watts, 36, tells Hotdog magazine, "Those years when I was in my twenties just floated by. The turning point was Mulholland Drive. I will always be grateful to David Lynch... Lynch changed everything; he cast me in spite of myself." »
