Storyline

Jerry Seinfeld stars in this television comedy series as himself, a comedian. The premise of this sitcom is Jerry and his friends going through everyday life, discussing various quirky situations that we can all relate to (especially if we live in New York). The eccentric personalities of the offbeat characters who make up Jerry's social circle contribute to the fun. Written by Tad Dibbern <DIBBERN_D@a1.mscf.upenn.edu>

Trivia

Jason Alexander has stated that, in addition to Larry David, his performance as George was also inspired by Jackie Gleason's performance as Ralph Kramden in The Honeymooners (1955). See more »

Goofs

In common with many other sitcoms, details of characters' back-histories change through the life of the series. We don't count these inconsistencies as goofs in long-running shows. See more »

Crazy Credits

The series does not have an opening credits sequence. Instead, the lead actor credits play out over a scene. Now commonplace in sitcoms and drama series, this was considered a novelty in 1990 and sparked a debate over the future of opening credits in TV series. See more »

A great show!
19 May 2000 | by (Froland, Norway) – See all my reviews

Seinfeld is a truly funny show, which I watch whenever I can. The series is based around 4 characters: Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer + lots of other characters. The characters are funny and and manage to get you laughing all the time. Excellent show, but it is a shame that they have stopped making new episodes. I want more!
