Back in 1990 the TV was on and I heard this wonderful song at the beginning of a new show and thus began a year-long love affair with Grand. A superb cast and wonderful writing made this show completely different from anything on the air at the time. It hearkened back to the sitcom "Soap" in its style of blending humor and drama as well as story arcs that lasted several episodes. I was looking forward settling in to a new series when NBC made the iditotic decision to cancel the show. Taking their idiocy to a new level, they then revived the show with half the original cast missing(with little or no explanation)and changed the show's format to a formulaic sitcom, turning the wonderfully talented Bonnie Hunt and Pamela Reed into some sort of low-budget versions of Laverne&Shirley. Grand is a prime example of the fact that television is not controlled by artists, but by idiots. This was a missed opportunity to create some TV history.
