It starts with a dose from an exterminator at 6:30AM, then losing his coat in a cab door, and progresses to being assaulted by a zoftig female author whose book he rejected. He, the writer, and Toby spend all weekend putting it back together, and get on each others nerves in the process. The writer stands up to his abusive wife and falls for Toby as well. Martin gives up a date with a gorgeous Swedish blonde and fantasizes about her the whole time. When the wife catches all of them at work she destroys the book again. Martin contemplates suicide.

While filming his son out on the streets Martin accidentally catches a beloved child entertainer receiving services from a street walker. He confronts the star in his dressing room in an effort to get him to clean up his act. The man offers his penis instead. In anger, Martin sells the tape to his pal Eddie to run on his show. Once the hooker incident is made public, the entertainer throws himself off a building. Martin meets the daughter in an effort to console her pain. He confesses his role in the expose, and she sues him. They go to trial where all of Martins mis-deeds are put under the public eye. He settles only to find out the daughter always knew that a hit man had actually killed her father.
