15 September 1990The Spirit of Earth, Gaia, is woken from a century-long sleep at Hope Island to discover that Earth is dying because of humans' carelessness in deforestation, pollution, over-hunting, and especially now by oil-driller Hoggish Greedly and his henchman Rigger, who threaten all life on a sea coast with their work. She sends a quintet of rings out to five youths around the world - Kwame, an African who tries to preserve plants, is given the Power of Earth to create mountains and earthquakes. Gi, a Malaysian with an affinity for sea life, is given the Power of Water to control any source of it nearby. Wheeler, a wild but compassionate American, is given the Power of Fire to create flame and control dangerous blazes. Linka, a Soviet bird-lover, is given the Power of Wind to create twisters and move objects. And Ma-Ti, a Kayapo-Spaniard animal-lover, is given the Power of Heart to bring out kindness in others and communicate mentally with any human or animal. The newly-appointed Planeteers learn of these powers at Hope Island before setting out to do battle with Greedly. Once there, they need help, so join their powers, which brings them a strong superhero who can transform to anything natural and whose sole weakness is too much direct pollution: Captain Planet.
22 September 1990Verminous Skumm, a mutant part-man/part-rat, takes over an abandoned coal factory to create acid rain to terrorize the people of a nearby town. Ma-Ti, after being unable to go through an obstacle course, believes that his small size will only disadvantage his friends so doesn't follow them into the factory. But he must find it in himself to take action somehow when they wind up trapped in a warehouse with chemicals, where they can't summon Captain Planet and might not even be able to get out alive...
29 September 1990A mysterious dragon-like creature rampages through the jungles of Thailand, destroying croplands and terrifying the people. Gi's friend Newalk tells the Planeteers that some believe it is Phi Pok, a mythological dragon-beast. Wheeler learns that it is just a machine Hoggish Greedly has invented to scare the villagers into leaving so he can steal their temple's jewels, but he is captured and must contact the others to stop the theft.
Season 1, Episode 4: Skumm Lord
6 October 1990Verminous Skumm creates a substance that, when placed in water, will mutate its drinker into a rat-resembling character who willingly serves him. The Planeteers go to stop him, but Wheeler falls into a vat of it, and Linka and Gi are splashed, so the others must hurry to recover an endangered plant Ma-Ti's friend the Shaman believes may cure them. Meanwhile, Skumm plans to place the liquid in Ma-Ti's village water supply, then the Amazon to infect the country and perhaps even the world.
13 October 1990Mad scientist Dr. Blight and radioactivity-dependent mutant Duke Nukem deliver a fake bomb threat to the Planeteers through Blight's smart computer MAL, who arrive and are forced to call Captain Planet. He disables the machine that's supposed to make everything work, but in freeing the Planeteers from a forcefield is captured. The villains say they'll only release him if the Planeteers deliver a lifetime's supply of radioactive waste - in which case not even Captain Planet could do much for the world...
20 October 1990
27 October 1990Kwame is shocked to see greedy businessman Looten Plunder and his right-hand man Argos Bleak are poaching Africa's elephants. Wheeler considers the trip an opportunity to buy Linka an ivory necklace as a birthday gift. The Planeteers go to free the creatures and also try to find an elephant cub's mother. But one of the problems facing them is that some Africans feel desperate enough to need to accept Plunder's jobs even if it means sacrificing all of their animal neighbors - and hurting themselves in the long term - as he would have them do...
3 November 1990Gi is outraged to see Hoggish Greedly using a giant drift-net to illegally fish whatever he wants from the ocean. Kwame is the only one she finds right away to get the news to, and he reluctantly follows her as she goes to fight without waiting for anyone else. They free some animals but the Ecosub is caught in a net and two are captured. They contact Ma-Ti and the others, who rescue them, but Greedly learns their secrets of how they summon Captain Planet and that their powers are absent when he does arrive. While Cap is active but away, ridding the world of the nets, Greedly captures the Planeteers and gains their rings with a magnetic field, so they can't summon him and his business can resume...
10 November 1990
17 November 1990Greedy garbageman Sly Sludge has found a get-rich-quick scheme where he rids the world of their trash by placing it on Laipuno Island - and claims he's reducing it with a machine whose blinding light causes it to be seen one minute and apparently in miniature proportion the next. The Planeteers go to investigate it and also meet Lenii, a local girl who works for him. When examining the machine when Sludge isn't around, Lenii is caught in it and they realize that the garbage isn't being shrunk but moved - to the island's volcano, which will soon erupt and bury the village in waste.
24 November 1990
26 January 1991Gi and Ma-Ti investigate polluted areas of water, suspecting Sly Sludge is pouring garbage and sewage there, and Ma-Ti is pained from hearing many cries for help underwater. Gi goes down to examine pollution levels, and is attacked by Sludge's robotic octopus, losing her oxygen-tank and consciousness. She's rescued by Pontus, a resident of the secret underwater city Oceanus, and discovers that the protective dome around it is leaking from the contaminants. The civilization's Council forbids her leaving to bring the other Planeteers back to help, and the others, captured by Sludge, don't know where or if they'll find her. But with the pollution threatening animal and human life, they will need to unite to summon Captain Planet soon...
2 February 1991Looten Plunder dams off an African village's river and offers the people electricity to improve services the river once provided, and some luxuries. The Planeteers realize that this means severe loss of fish-life and animals becoming wild with thirst, especially since Plunder had Argos Bleak block the water he didn't dam up. They convince Chief Morla, but not his people, not to do business with him. Shortly after they arrive, an elephant-stampede convince the villagers to reject his technology, but Plunder still hands out the electric bill for everything he's given them, which is too high to pay. The villagers can't continue their old ways of life or even survive long without the river, and just about every natural system there is threatened. Plunder builds a robot likeness of the villagers' river deity to terrorize them so they'll give him the land he now owns as payment, but the machine may cause more disasters than even he planned for.
9 February 1991Duke Nukem enters a nuclear power plant with a radiation-leak while the manager is seeing reporters instead of repairing it. He breaks into the machinery and prepares to trigger a meltdown to give himself strength. The Planeteers arrive to stop him, but Dr. Borzon mistakes them for more reporters and locks them in a cramped room full of radiation where their rings don't work. They need Captain Planet to prevent Nukem's creating a worldwide fallout, but first must save themselves and regain their powers.
Season 1, Episode 15: Smog Hog
16 February 1991
23 February 1991
2 March 1991Looten Plunder, Verminous Skumm, Hoggish Greedly, and Dr. Blight team up to dump contaminants in the water-supply for many cities so they can get rich off of selling Plunder's clean water at high prices. The Planeteers go to see what is causing such pollution, and investigate the water and the polluters' operation. Gi and Wheeler are captured while entering the headquarters, so Captain Planet is summoned to get them out and stop the business. But the other three are attacked with the large supply of powerful pollutants, and though he shields them, it proves a major challenge for Cap himself when he is hurt enough to lose most of his energy.
9 March 1991
Season 1, Episode 19: Ozone Hole
13 April 1991Duke Nukem enters Antarctica with stolen factory-equipment, fridges, and ACs to cause chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) to enlarge the hole in the ozone so he will get the radioactivity he needs to survive. The Planeteers arrive to prevent Earth from suffering for good, but when Linka, Kwame, and Gi are trapped by Nukem, they have to deal with the cold weather and his radiation at the same time, so have to think fast to get out in time to save the planet.
20 April 1991Two Middle Eastern village leaders have declared war on one another, despite their sons' friendship and pleas for peace, when an arms-dealer claims that each will attack the other and sells them weapons. The Planeteers, like the children, are aware of the needlessness of the fighting, and the loss of life, destruction of the land, and suffering for both peoples it will ultimately bring. But they learn that Looten Plunder is the one selling weapons, and suddenly not only have to convince the chiefs to end combat, but also have to make sure Plunder doesn't stop them getting their message out first.
27 April 1991Captain Planet prevents part of a wall breaking and falling on a crowded street in an overpopulated city. Back on Hope Island, the Planeteers learn that the world is very overpopulated and some countries try to slow it down. Wheeler, annoyed at the idea of anyone recommending how many children to have, goes out windsurfing despite an approaching storm. He's blown off-course and is washed up on an island with a miniature city. The inhabitants, genetically-effected mice with human characteristics including overpopulation and its resulting polluted land, capture Wheeler for food. His kind warden, Piebald, saves his life and the totalitarian government decides he should be shown to the masses to prove their society is well-off instead. When they learn about the Planeteers, their army attacks Hope Island and capture Linka and Kwame for slaves as well. Wheeler has to cooperate with the government to spare Piebald trouble, and think of a way to successfully rescue humanity...
4 May 1991Looten Plunder, Dr. Blight, Verminous Skumm, Duke Nukem, and Sly Sludge team up to defeat the Planeteers by getting powers similar to the ones they have from their rings. Sludge and Skumm send a fake distress-call from an island, then shoot sleeping-gas over the Geocruiser so it crash-lands and they can steal the Planeteers' rings. Before they can take the Planeteers prisoner as well, though, they find the "deserted" island actually has a soldier's radar-station on it, and he orders them to leave. Blight contacts Commander Clash, posing as a soldier claiming that the Planeteers are his enemy's spies. Without their rings and without his listening to their pleas to help them get off the island they're stranded on, the Planeteers have to figure out a way to outwit Clash. What they don't know is that Blight uses her machine to create evil versions of the rings - Super-Radiation, Deforestation, Smog, Toxins, and Hate - and merge them to create Captain Pollution, who they plan to send out before Plunder's army to attack the Planeteers...
11 May 1991The Planeteers learn Commander Clash's radar station he releases Ma-Ti and Gi from was set up during the Cold War, which he doesn't know ended. He is depressed and doubts he has any purpose when he learns the truth, but when Captain Pollution arrives to attack the leaving Planeteers, he manages to beat him back, at their advice, by spraying him with uncontaminated water. They tell Clash that Captain Pollution and his creators will return, but can't convince him that his help is necessary to defeat them. While the villains help Pollution regain his strength, the Planeteers eventually talk Clash into assisting them. Armed only with their brains and technology to substitute their powers, the six must find the rings, summon Captain Planet, and defeat the team of polluters, Captain Pollution, and Plunder's army to stop them from destroying the island and the world.
18 May 1991Hoggish Greedly prepares to enter Dr. Blight's time pool to travel back to the 1950s where he can profit through development as much as he pleases without having to worry about environmental policies. The Planeteers track down their cave in Greenland, and though Captain Planet slows down Greedly and Rigger, Wheeler's pursuit of them near the pool separates him from the others when a sound-wave machine causes an ice-fall. Cap is weakened by radiation and must depart, and the others can't see an easy way to get through the blockade. Bitter about being trapped in a carbon-dioxide-filled chamber with Dr. Blight when he could be celebrating a New Year's Eve party, Wheeler admits that this is one of those times he regrets becoming a Planeteer. Blight offers to let him stop their imprisonment by having him go back in time and undo that. Wheeler gives the date and location, but is reluctant to actually go until Blight pushes him through the pool. Going 360 days back in time to New York, Wheeler catches the Fire ring meant for himself and warns him to refuse it since it's fatal. His past self agrees and flees, but then Wheeler is confronted by Gaia, who tells him that he changed history in more ways than he thought. Greedly was never stopped from going back in time himself, so global warming is now much worse thanks to his decades' worth of polluting. The Planeteers never formed without their fifth member, and Captain Planet could not be summoned without the Ring of Fire. Wheeler doubts this can be true, since others might have been chosen in his place. Gaia takes him forward 35 years through MAL's time-pool system, where he finds New York flooded from global warming...
25 May 1991Wheeler gets his wish to see how those who were once his fellow Planeteers are living, but discovers life really has changed for the worse without him as part of their team. Gi lives alone on her island trying to rescue the last few fish species from extinction, angry with humanity in general since too few became Planeteers and the group failed. Kwame feels forced into, and accepting of, a position of constant battle to defend the few trees he alone planted from land-developers, thinking since nobody helped him before he can't possibly undo damage on a global scale. Linka works with her government preventing riots so all the masses suffering from global warming get enough from the meager food supply, and thinks Wheeler is insane since another's cowardice ruined any chance the world had by not joining the Planeteers. Ma-Ti, whose home was completely destroyed, lives among his starving people bringing out the kindness in others to support them, and despairs that since the rainforest cannot be restored, Earth's fate cannot be changed. When Wheeler finds that even Hope Island has been transformed into Greedly's vacation-center and Gaia is dead from toxic poisoning, he is desperate to reverse his act but doesn't know what to do...
Season 1, Episode 26: Heat Wave
1 June 1991
14 September 1991
21 September 1991Dr. Helix, a scientist Gi is a fan of, appears to have found a solution for oil-spills by placing his invented substance in water where it absorbs the oil. Sly Sludge decides to get rich off of this so poses as an interested scientist then steals the formula before it's tested, offering to let it devour trash in France where garbage-collectors prove a problem by going on strike. It turns out that the substance grows after "eating" the garbage, turning into a type of blob with an appetite growing with its size. The Planeteers must stop it before its hunger-rampage destroys everything in its path.
28 September 1991While Ma-Ti and Wheeler visit Ma-Ti's village in the Amazon, they learn a man called Baron Giftus promises to show the countries of the world a solution to Earth's air-pollution problem - though none of them realize it's a trick of Looten Plunder's. While Wheeler, who doubts his promise, stays behind, Ma-Ti goes to Washington DC with the gift of a headdress from his tribe - and learns of the man's true identity when he sees Argos Bleak and uses Heart to see through Plunder's disguise as Giftus, but he is captured and his ring is stolen so he can't contact the others. Back on Hope Island, the remaining Planeteers become aware of the situation when Plunder reveals that he's installing plastic domes around every civilization with tubes to remove foul and release pure air - at a price, which no town can afford to refuse since the smog trapped inside the plastic is unbearable. Trapped himself under one of these back in the rainforest, Wheeler tries to figure out how to escape and free Ma-Ti, and join the others to summon Captain Planet and put Plunder Air out of business.
5 October 1991On Moghal Island, Looten Plunder plans to open a factory and hires Dr. Blight to use her cloning-ray to give him many workers so he won't have to pay them much. The Planeteers don't know exactly what the two are planning as go to investigate, but after they arrive and meet an ambitious but unappreciated local girl named Leela, they're just in time to see her lazy brother Vico captured. Blight and Plunder didn't get to keep their first test-subject, a locust, to see how and what would happen when it clones, but use the ray on Vico anyway. The Planeteers and Leela get him out, and later see that eating causes him to double in number. In a society where males are favored, his parents are delighted to have twin then quadruplet sons. But the Planeteers must go after the swarm of locusts and stop Plunder's getting the clone Vicos to work for him (paid with food), since both the insects and the boys threaten the island with their rapidly-increasing hunger as they multiply...
12 October 1991Gi tells Ma-Ti the shark he thought was attacking him during their swim on vacation was a plant-eater, but a Florida Keys local overhears and misunderstands part of their conversation and soon the town believes the beach is overrun by man-eating beasts. Argos Bleak takes advantage of the promises of a reward for someone who will keep the people safe by vowing to kill all sharks. Ma-Ti and Gi try to warn people that harming sharks will mean harming the environment when the animals they control become too populous, then attempt to stop Bleak's hunting, but they are captured. The other Planeteers fly out to meet them, but are shot into the ocean by Bleak. They have to stop his shark-hunting, especially after he intends to use the Planeteers as bait and unchecked numbers of jellyfish really do give the beach-goers something to fear attack from...
Season 2, Episode 6: The Ark
19 October 1991
26 October 1991
2 November 1991Hoggish Greedly introduces "dynamite-fishing" to the Philippines, since fishing by placing explosives in the water quickly kills fish...and is the perfect cover for him to dig in the coral reef their ocean ecosystem thrives on and steal and sell its remains. The Planeteers arrive to caution the locals to stop using explosives before the reef, and ultimately their way of life, is destroyed. They have trouble convincing Marcaria, a fisherman's wife, that any gains made will be overshadowed by the losses of sea-life and the length of time the reef would take to grow back, which Greedly's lies didn't mention. When they try to prove the damage to her while diving through the reef, Greedly captures Gi and the others are caught in an underwater cavern when coral struck from her torpedo against his blocks the opening. The other four must free themselves, since Captain Planet cannot stay thanks to Greedly's toxins, and release Gi and convince Macaria's husband Tacio and the other villagers that even their survival is in danger since not having coral reefs brings no resistance to tidal waves.
9 November 1991In San Francisco, many are falling sick to poisonings of what look like various toxins and chemicals. The Planeteers go to investigate. Ma-Ti's obsession for old mystery novels makes him eager to prove how good a detective he is. However, none of them notice Verminous Skumm's presence when every place they examine is sabotaged and those they get information from sicken. Ma-Ti's distractions don't help the others learn everything soon enough to solve the problem, so they have him stay behind while they meet a talking mime who invites them to a restaurant at the Bay called The Sinking Ship. They soon learn who he is and that he causes the disease here by feeding runoff-contaminated seafood, and need help to escape when they are about to be made to eat it themselves...
16 November 1991
23 November 1991The Planeteers visit an organic farm to see how natural insect-repellents are used on crops, but Joe, a neighboring illiterate farmer too ashamed to admit he can't read, receives a job offer operating sprayers from Looten Plunder and Argos Bleak. Their machines are full of pesticide that not only kills the insects, but also other animals. This nearly causes a mass- poisoning when a cloud of it heads for the town. The Planeteers succeed in warning Angela, a schoolteacher, and her students, and Captain Planet removes the gas before leaving. The Planeteers decide to investigate the gas, and take Angela when she reveals that her boyfriend Joe suffered fainting-attacks near where the pesticides were used. Joe is tricked into signing a form making him liable for the operation by being told that he's insuring himself so Plunder will pay for his medical bills. When he sees Plunder and Bleak preparing to attack Angela with the Planeteers, he attempts to intervene but is locked in a warehouse. Ma-Ti and Angela are soon placed with him, and the other Planeteers are forced into a silo filled with corn, as Plunder plans to pour pesticides in on all seven and blame Joe. The Planeteers must break free to stop Plunder from causing any more harm, but even Captain Planet is at the mercy of poisons and farm-machinery.
30 November 1991While touring the desert, Ma-Ti is surprised how many animals live there - but is even more shocked to see that it's the spot Hoggish Greedly has chosen for his off-road racing, despite the threats his guide Josh says it gives to the animals there. Gaia reveals also that even small vehicles cause bad damage by unleashing much sand that will be eroded during a rain and prevent plants and animals from surviving. The other Planeteers join Ma-Ti and Josh to find Greedly already attacking, getting a young dirt-biker named Pete on his side by claiming there's nothing to worry about destroying so his enemies are pointless thorns. Captain Planet takes Greedly's and Rigger's road-hogs to prevent the race, but after a sandstorm hits, Pete, whose dirt-bike was stolen by Greedly, is rescued by the Planeteers and, realizing what racing would really do to the environment, reveals it will still be held. He, Josh, and the Planeteers have to stop it from happening before more problems occur, like the flood that occurs during a rainfall...
7 December 1991During a boating voyage, Hoggish Greedly and Verminous Skumm land on the Galapagos Islands after Greedly accidentally knocks a toxin over Skumm's rats, causing them to grow and mutate form. They find some endangered Galapagos tortoise eggs, and plan to use them for food. The Planeteers, sent by Gaia to a museum with a camera-operated robot called JASON which can explore anywhere, see the two poaching and fly out to stop it. They have to defeat Greedly, Skumm, and the mutant rats, and even Captain Planet has to get past their supply of toxins in order to help.
Season 2, Episode 14: Stardust
8 January 1992After rescuing George, a miner whose leg is caught in an area under construction, the Planeteers are horrified to see how strip-mining is used for finding minerals, proving disastrous to the environment and dangerous for people. They investigate the mine and find that while Hoggish Greedly is in charge, he is actually working under the mine's owner, Sky Runner, a Native American musician Gi and Linka like who is supposed to be an environmentalist. They go to meet him and learn that strip-mining wasn't his idea, and he goes to confront Greedly. He is kidnapped along with George, whom Greedly knew saw the Planeteers, and they are sent in a cart down the shaft where they will most likely be hurt and unable to get out again to stop him. The Planeteers must help, despite the threat to themselves and their powers the explosives pose.
25 January 1992An Australian town has an extreme amount of air-pollution, despite its excellent subway system, the Blue Car Line. The Planeteers go to investigate and meet a local journalist, Sam, who is also trying to figure out why nobody is riding the metro. There have been claims of disappearances, though no missing-person reports, while some cars vanish and the ones that operate see appearances by what look like phantoms and go for crazy roller-coaster rides on hidden tracks. Kwame and Wheeler sneak back to walk through the tunnels, and discover that Looten Plunder has monopolized most transportation-services in town except the Blue Car Line, which he wants to see shut down so he can build an expensive highway in its place. But they discover this because they are captured, and the other Planeteers and Sam have to try to free them...and keep Plunder from preventing anyone from hearing the story so he can go on with his construction that will cause even more damage.
1 February 1992Linka and Ma-Ti go to visit his ornithologist friend Juan in Central America, and explore a valley of many birds with Juan's parrot, El Profesor. However, he and all the other birds end up following a bird that is actually Hoggish Greedly's robot to lure them into his trap for smuggling them off. When they attempt to free the birds, Ma-Ti and Linka are captured, and Ma-Ti strikes his head against a pole so finds it too painful to contact the others. The other Planeteers hear that they are missing so go after them, and El Profesor escapes and is able to let the others know who is behind their disappearance, but they have no way to be warned about a trap Greedly is preparing for them. They must figure out how to avoid being caught, free the others, and stop Greedly's escape to continue illegally selling birds.

29 February 1992Vacationing in Mexico City with the other Planeteers, Wheeler is put off by the many lower-classmen he sees. But when an earthquake strikes, they go north to Santa Teresa to rescue victims - and during an aftershock, Wheeler is knocked on the head by stone and, found and rescued by a couple moving to the city, awakens to find that he has amnesia. He hears Ma-Ti calling to him in his head but doesn't know his voice, so is suspected to be mad and flees the hospital he is left at. He falls in with Teresa, a young woman who attempted to be his guide earlier, and learns first-hand what it means to be poor. He has to deal with hunger, attacks from gang-members, and the unkindness of others who don't help them. But when Teresa is caught in a fire, the other Planeteers find it but know that they cannot extinguish it without Captain Planet...and Wheeler must recover in order to remember his friends so he can join them in summoning him and save Teresa.
7 March 1992Hoggish Greedly uses a large machine to uproot trees from the ground and grind them at the same time so he can have a quick, easy supply of wood to sell furniture. The Planeteers arrive to see what is causing the destruction of forests that is believed to be a "flying saucer", with the help of Jenny, a local teen birdwatcher whom Wheeler finds attractive. They must fight Greedly's machine causing destruction for themselves and others...and they may have to do it alone, since when Captain Planet is caught and injured in the grinder while rescuing a nest of birds, he returns his powers to the Planeteers' rings, and does not come back when they try to call him.
14 March 1992
Season 2, Episode 23: Hate Canal
21 March 1992Venice's population is relocating due to its pollution and smog affecting the land and structures - but also because of a large mutated group of rats whose bites sicken their victims. The Planeteers arrive and meet a pathologist, Resa, attempting to find a cure for the disease they cause that her young relative Pietre is suffering, and learn through clues that Verminous Skumm is behind it. But it isn't until Ma-Ti is bitten, and badly suffers, that they learn that Skumm is doing it through a substance placed in processed cheese that causes the rats and whoever they attack to become infected by contaminated canal-water. Now they have to find a cure for the worsening patients and stop the rats from terrorizing the populace with the contamination they thrive on.
28 March 1992
4 April 1992Looten Plunder leads a whaling operation with Dr. Blight aboard attempting to concoct the perfect poison, and the Planeteers are enraged to see that it is legal for him to kill whales with calves - as the Japanese whaler Masuyo would rather not do - simply because he claims that he is "experimenting whale-repellent". Masuyo's son Tykoshi fails to plead with his father not to hunt so resorts to stowing on the Whale-B-Gone ship, but is accidentally knocked overboard by one of Blight's beakers, and rescued by the Planeteers. They join forces to try and find evidence that they are actually illegally whaling for profit, but are under attack from harpoons, traps, and poisons to prevent any help Captain Planet may give them.

12 September 1992
19 September 1992Mutated sea-creatures are being discovered at a rising rate, and the Planeteers set out to learn why - but Gi and the others are unaware that in her anger of putting up with Suchi while enhancing the Ecosub's controls, she lost a gear for the speed-increasing control. They only find this out after they've already taken off to investigate the water-contamination that is the result of Sly Sludge's illegally pouring waste in the ocean. Things get out of hand when he sees them before they see him, so takes a reporter and young fisherman aware of the crisis as hostages in case his old enemies return. But the Planeteers have their own problems to deal with, like escaping a large clam that accidentally traps them when the sub crashes through Sludge's barge, and still have to get out in time to stop a large mutant squid from attacking a sea-coast.
