Fox And Green Still Together And Planning Wedding

19 November 2008 5:20 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Brian Austin Green is baffled by reports he has split from his World's Sexiest Woman fiancee Megan Fox - because they are busy planning their wedding.

The split rumours have circulated since Maxim magazine hailed the 21-year-old Transformers actress the hottest star of the year earlier in 2008.

But former Beverly Hills 90210 star Green insists they're as close as ever.

He says, "We're still engaged."

And the wedding plans are in full swing: "(The ceremony will be) small. Originally we were talking elopement and now we might have a few people there." »

Melrose Comeback Plans In Place

29 October 2008 12:12 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Popular 1990s soap opera Melrose Place is reportedly set to follow in the footsteps of Beverly Hills, 90210 with a return to the small screen.

Bosses on the show - which launched the careers of Marcia Cross and Kristin Davis - are working on an updated version of the series, according to E! Online.

The show ran from 1992 to 1999 and was notorious for its sensationalist storylines and extravagant characters.

The move to bring it back comes after the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off hit screens in the U.S. in the summer. Both series were produced by late TV mogul Aaron Spelling.

Former Melrose Place star Lisa Rinna has fuelled reports of a comeback, saying, "I've heard a rumor of them bringing back the show like they did 90210." »

Doting On Sick Dad Earned Doherty Awkward Reputation

20 October 2008 6:28 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Shannen Doherty insists her reputation as an awkward actress is undeserved - she's just keen to keep her personal life troubles away from cast mates and crew.

The actress was dubbed a wildchild on hit 1990s TV show Beverly Hills, 90210 for showing up to work tired and moody - but now she insists it was because she'd spent the night in hospital at her sick father's bedside.

Doherty's dad suffered a series of health setbacks during his daughter's tenure on the show - but she chose to deal with them privately, rather than approaching co-stars or producers for help.

She tells Radar magazine, "I'm very private about certain things, and my own cast mates never knew about my dad and his medical problems.

"Nobody knew I was in the hospital 'til five in the morning and came straight to the set. People just thought, 'She's unprofessional.'"

"Back then, you know, if I seemed moody, you try having a father be that sick and calling and saying, I don't think I can work today,' and being told, 'No, no, no. You're working or we're suing you.' It's brutal." »

Doherty Returns For More Episodes Of 90210

15 October 2008 9:11 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Shannen Doherty has confirmed she will appear in a further two episodes of the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off series, despite announcing her departure.

Doherty plays the adult incarnation of Brenda Walsh in 90210 - the character she played on the original teen TV series until in 1994.

The star initially signed-on to appear in only four episodes of the show, which made its debut in September.

But a spokesperson for the show has confirmed Doherty's return for two additional episodes of the series, which are set to air on 18 November.

She has been joined by fellow former castmates Jennie Garth and Joe E. Tata, who have also signed-on to reprise their roles, and Jason Priestley, who has been tapped to direct an upcoming episode of the spin-off.

Last month, Doherty told reporters: "I signed on for four episodes... I think there's such a thing as overstaying your welcome, and I don't wanna do that." »

Priestley Confirms 90210 Return

10 October 2008 3:57 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Latest: Actor Jason Priestley has confirmed he'll return to his former TV zip code to direct a post-Christmas episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off series, 90210.

The actor, who directed 18 episodes of the beloved teen soap he starred in, will take charge of a 90210 show in January - but he insists he won't be joining former castmates Shannen Doherty, Joe E Tata and Jennie Garth in front of the camera.

He says, "I'm coming back as a director thus far... They hired me to direct an episode in January, right after the Christmas break. I'm really looking forward to it.

"This is nothing new. I directed more episodes (of Beverly Hills, 90210) than anybody else."

Priestley hopes Doherty will return to the show for his episode, and he's looking forward to working with Garth: "I just hope that Jennie's in the episode that I do, or that Shannen's there - that'll be fun for me.

"I talk to Jennie all the time - we're actually neighbours - and she's having a great time over there (on the show)." »

Priestley To Direct 90210 Episode

8 October 2008 6:58 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actor Jason Priestley will join his former Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates in the new series' spin-off - as a director.

Priestley is in talks to take the helm for an episode of the new show which is set to air next spring.

And the 39-year-old star will reportedly be joined by his former onscreen sister, Shannen Doherty, who is in negotiations to return for two more episodes less than a month after turning down offers to extend her contract with the show's producers.

Doherty's negotiations follow original co-star Jennie Garth's agreement to add another five episodes to her stint on 90210.

The pair's former castmate, Tori Spelling, turned down the chance to reprise her role on the spin-off following a reported salary dispute, and another 90210 oldie, Luke Perry, has repeatedly refused to talk about the new show - even though his character is part of the storyline.

Executive producer Gabe Sachs admits he's just happy that Priestley is potentially onboard, "I think it would be a kick for Jason to work with any of his (former 90210 co-stars), and it would also add something special to that episode."

Meanwhile, another former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, Brian Austin Green, has revealed he wants to make a cameo appearance in the new spin-off series.

He recently denied rumours he has been approached to play David Silver once more - but now claims he would consider a walk-on part if he was offered the chance.

He says, "If it made sense, it would be fun to do just a couple of scenes." »

90210 Dropped By Australian Network

2 October 2008 5:42 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210 has been axed from Australian TV screens due to poor ratings.

The drama was dropped from Channel 10 after just four episodes because there wasn't enough interest in the show.

The debut program pulled in 837,000 viewers last month, while the last episode shown on Monday achieved viewing figures of just 616,000.

A spokesperson for the channel says, "90210 is an excellent show that clearly resonated with a younger audience, but it didn't have the kind of numbers needed to stay in this intensely competitive environment."

The station intends to broadcast the remaining episodes during the non-ratings period over summer. »

SPOILER ALERT: Luke Perry is under pressure to return to Beverly Hills after his beloved TV character Dylan McKay was named the father of Kelly Taylor's son on Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210 on Tuesday night.

Only Jennie Garth, who revives her role as Taylor in the new show, Joe E Tata and Shannen Doherty agreed to return to the famous address for the new series - but now Garth is hoping the bombshell, which aired on Tuesday will bring Perry back.

Doherty Escaped Stealing And Crashing 90210 Car

16 September 2008 6:30 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Shannen Doherty once stole a car from the set of Beverly Hills, 90210, crashed it, and let a castmate take the blame.

The actress begged Ian Ziering to let her test drive the Corvette his character, Steve Sanders, drove in the 90s show - and when he said yes, she smashed it up.

Doherty, who has made a cameo appearance in new spin-off show 90210 reveals,"I wanted to drive the Corvette so badly. We took it and I went too fast and hit this bump and it bottomed out.

"Ian was so sweet he took the blame for it." »

Doherty May Return To 90210

13 September 2008 7:08 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Latest: Shannen Doherty would be happy to return to Beverly Hills 90210 spin-off 90210 - if producers offer her more episodes.

The actress was recently reported to have walked away from the show after filming four installments as a "thank you" to her fans.

But the star now admits that she would like to become a regular guest star on the show, as long as TV bosses want her back.

Gary Mantoosh, a spokesman for Doherty, says, "Shannen signed on for four episodes, which she has shot. It was Shannen's way of thanking her fans. If the CW (TV network) comes back with an offer for additional episodes, she's happy to consider it."

A statement from TV chiefs on Friday announced that bosses on the show would "love for her to do more" and there is "definitely" a possibility that Doherty could return.

Doherty's co-star, Jennie Garth, recently agreed to add another five episodes to her stint on the new show. »

Watchdog Group Takes Aim At TV Network Over 90210 Scene

7 September 2008 6:31 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Officials at a leading U.S. family group are calling for advertisers to boycott TV network the CW over a controversial scene in the new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210.

Just 10 minutes into the new series, which debuted in America last week, lead actor Dustin Milligan appeared to be receiving fellatio from a girlfriend in his truck - and the scene has upset the Parents Television Council.

In a statement, PTC president Tim Winter writes, "The CW Network has openly, wantonly and eagerly violated every business tenet of the broadcast industry.

"They shocked viewers during the family hour by depicting high school children engaged in oral sex in their car. It's such a sucker punch to viewers and a lot of families. No one tuned in to 90210 thinking, 'Hey, maybe I will get to see (oral sex).'"

Network bosses are fighting back, insisting the controversial scene was screened for advertisers before the show aired - and no one took issue with what they saw.

A CW statement reads, "For the record, 90210 was screened in advance of broadcast through the customary advertiser screening service."

This is the latest in a string of disputes between the CW and the PTC - the watchdog group has been very critical of the network's racy Gossip Girls series. One critique, calling the show "mind-blowingly inappropriate", has been used to publicise the project. »

Thiessen Has No Plans To Join 90210 Reunion

2 September 2008 12:13 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Tiffani Thiessen has no intention of joining her old castmates on the set of the new spin-off show - insisting she has moved on.

The star played Valerie Malone in the hit U.S. teen series alongside Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth, who have both signed up to return to their old roles in the new 90210 show.

But Thiessen has no plans to make a cameo appearance, despite describing her time on the show as "wonderful".

She says, "I don't think so, I mean I wish them all the luck, but I'm just so in a different place right now. You know, it's not that I don't look back at that show with wonderful, amazing memories, but I've just gone in a different direction for me. But I think it's wonderful."

And Thiessen doesn't believe Garth and Doherty's old rifts will come back to haunt them.

She adds, "I think a lot of time has passed, you know. I'm sure they had their talks between them, beforehand. I think it's great for them. They look beautiful and I'm sure it will be great." »

Doherty: Spelling's A Liar

29 August 2008 12:09 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Shannen Doherty has branded Tori Spelling a liar after she claimed the actress had engaged in a fistfight with co-star Jennie Garth.

Spelling unleashed her wrath on Doherty in her new tome sTori Telling, calling the actress "arrogant" and a "bad influence" on the set of their hit 1990s show.

And in the book, Spelling claimed Doherty had such a bad relationship with Garth, their on-set disagreements resulted in a full-on fight.

But Doherty, who will team up with alleged sparring partner Garth in the new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off, states Spellings tales are false.

She tells Usweekly.com, ""We never did (have a fight). I think I would remember Jennie's fist connecting with a part of my body or a part of my face.

"It just goes to show you how people will lie."

Spelling recently pulled out of updated Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210 shortly after Doherty signed on to join the cast. »

Doherty: 'Spelling's Memoir Funny'

27 August 2008 6:32 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Shannen Doherty has hit out at Tori Spelling's scathing portrayal of her in her former co-star's tell-all book.

Spelling unleashed on Doherty in her new tome sTori Telling, calling the actress "arrogant" and a "bad influence" on the set of their hit 1990s show.

Doherty says, "I didn't read it, nor would I. My friends called me and said, 'Oh, she said this and this.' Tori and I were friends, but, along the way, people grow in different directions. I did my thing, she did her thing, and that was pretty much it."

But the actress insists she won't follow her former pal's example and put a poisoned pen to paper.

She quips, "I've been approached so many times, but I look at writing books as something you do in your 80s when you have no more chapters left in life.

"My book would be boring because I would never write about my castmates, whether I liked them or not. When you're working on a set, that's a sacred and private experience. It's not supposed to end up in a book for somebody to make money off of."

Spelling recently pulled out of updated Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210 shortly after Doherty signed on to join the cast. »

Perry Not Reconsidering 90210

Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry has denied reports he is reconsidering a return to the show's new spin-off after initially rejecting a role.

The 41-year-old actor, who played bad boy Dylan McKay in the original teen hit, passed up an offer to join his former castmates Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty in the new 90210 series in June.

But Perry has been rumoured to be returning to the show - appearing as the father of Garth's new TV son - but he insists there is no truth to the claims.

His spokesperson Arnold Robinson tells WENN: "This story is not true. Luke is not appearing on the show."

The actor initially explained his decision to not take part in the programme: "I can't re-imagine it currently. It's just not something that I've thought about to be quite honest, I don't see it happening." »

Garth: 'New 90210 Is Too Racy For My Kids'

25 August 2008 6:56 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Jennie Garth won't be letting her young children watch her new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off - because the new show is far racier than the original.

When Garth first played rich kid Kelly Taylor on 90210, the show was family viewing, but she fears the new-look series is far too raunchy for pre-teens.

She says, "My kids are by no means ready to watch this 90210."

And co-star Lori Laughlin admits she's often left red faced by her racy scenes with onscreen husband Rob Estes.

She explains, "I blush all day long..

Meanwhile, Estes adds, "(We're not) a mom and dad who are home eating bon bons. It's a couple who's f**king!

"We'll clear the kitchen so fast (to have sex), you don't know what to do with yourself." »

TV Bosses Keep 90210 Secret

19 August 2008 5:13 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

TV chiefs are desperately trying to keep the plot of the new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off show under wraps.

Bosses at the CW Television Network have refused to release any footage of the new programme ahead of its debut on 2 September.

And critics have been banned from reviewing the show, with no advance screenings planned before it airs on TV.

A statement from CW reads, "The CW and our studio partner CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen 90210 for any media in advance of its premiere.

"We're not hiding anything... simply keeping a lid on 90210 until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time."

The series has been hit by controversy in recent weeks with Tori Spelling quitting the project in an alleged row over her salary.

Other original stars, including Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth, will both be reprising their roles for the new-look show. »
