A straightforward Hong Kong romantic comedy of the late '80s, directed by former Shaw star Derek Yee. This one sees Kenny Bee and Maggie Cheung as a loved-up couple who plan to get married, except that Bee's financial problems put a strain on the situation. The comedy is only so-so here and there's a certain air of predictability to this one that stops it being one of the best of its kind; very much a play it safe kind of movie that gets by on the goodwill and effort of the cast more than anything. However, there are fun moments, notably Wu Ma's great cameo and the lavish climax in which Tai Bo's thief and Shing Fui-on's loan shark come to blows.
