Wilson father and son
19 May 2008 | by See all my reviews

George Wilson wrote the screenplay adapted from a relatively obscure Marcel aymé novel. His son Lambert Wilson starred as the hero,a young soldier returning home after fighting in WW1:he was wounded and it had serious after-effects .

In the village where he lives, they tell that a splendid woman swims in the nude in the ponds ,protected by the vipers. They call her "La Vouivre" The ex-soldier falls for her, becomes her lover:she will be the death of him.

The movie was panned as soon as it was released :directing displays no sense of mystery, which was necessary in a supernatural story, but Lambert Wilson and Jean Carmet save the film from tedium.
