Two young boys at an orphanage somewhere in Yugoslavia decide one day on making an escape. The younger, Jens plans to look for his father in Copenhagen (Denmark), while the older one, Hassec wishes to find his brother in Hamburg (Germany). This movie is about their scary and adventurous journey across Europe. When they finally meet their relatives, not everything turns up being as they expected. Written by Mirek Dymitrow
After I saw this film I was really moved. It depicts the rotten society as it's seen by the eyes of an innocent child. The story is dramatic and unpredictable, yet very realistic and thus believable. The cast is just swell. Adam Kozlowski in the leading part as Jens, a boy who escapes from an orphange in Inac in Yugoslavia to look for his father makes a great performance, and Mirek Dymitrow in the supporting role as his friend Hassec shows proof of brilliant child's acting. In other parts you can see Boguslaw Linda, one of Poland's most acknowledged contemporary actors, and also Lars von Trier in a minor part. See this film and notice things you've never thought about!
