A good little film...
24 September 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

sometimes it is a nice surprise to find a small film which has a few stars in it and has a decent message; Gary Cole is very believable as the widowed father who must now re-learn to live his life, build up his realty business and take care of the motherless child, Katie.

George Coe and Colleen Dewhurst portray the grandparents of Katie who are concerned that Gary Cole may put the child up for adoption. We see several surprisingly frank scenes, wherein Cole is exhausted and overwhelmed, tired of dealing with being a single father.

Joanna Kerns also has a part as Cole's business partner and is (as usual) very good and effective in this role. All in all a nice film which deals with the problems of single fathers, and is more genuine than the more recent adolescent tripe we have seen recently. 9/10.
