10 Things You Didn’t Know about the Movie Teen Witch

A lot of 1980s movies having to deal with teenagers seemed intent on telling a story and doling out a moral as well. Teen Witch though delivered a very important message that a lot of people should take to hear when coming into their high school years. There’s no such thing as easy while you’re growing up and learning how to sort out your life, if you want it, then go get it. But learn how to earn it. Here are a few things you might not have known about the film. 10. Robyn Lively’s mom had a lot to

Blu-ray Reviews: Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too Collector’s Editions

  • DailyDead
Not all teenage werewolf movies are created equal.

As a kid, I couldn’t have been more primed to see 1985’s Teen Wolf, a movie that seemed positively made just for me. I was obsessed with star Michael J. Fox, first from his TV work as Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties and then as Marty McFly in Back to the Future, to this day my favorite movie of all time. Werewolves have always been my movie monster of choice, even as a boy of just eight years old. Combining Michael J. Fox with werewolves—in a high school comedy, no less, then (and possibly still) one of my favorite film genres—seemed a foolproof recipe for a classic. And, in its way, Teen Wolf is a classic: a movie that’s probably as good as it can be while still being far from great. It’s sweet, it means well,

Blake and Robyn Lively Have the Sweetest Sisterhood, and Nothing Can Top That

Blake and Robyn Lively Have the Sweetest Sisterhood, and Nothing Can Top That
There are a lot of things we love about Blake Lively (her fashion sense, her adorable daughters, her romance with husband Ryan Reynolds), but one of our favorites is her silly and sweet bond with her older sister, Robyn. The two, who are also incredibly close with their sister Lori, have never been shy about flaunting their sisterhood. From Blake channeling Robyn's iconic character in Teen Witch to them giving each other shout-outs on Instagram, we can never get enough of the Lively gals. Most recently, they laughed up a storm when they stepped out in New York City together in February. In our opinion, nothing can "Top That" (Sorry, had to). Girls season 6 episode 2 review: Hostage Situation

Joe Matar Feb 20, 2017

Girls delivers a confusingly uneven episode that feels all over the place...

This review contains spoilers.

6.2 Hostage Situation

I was down on the first bunch of episodes in the previous season of Girls. I found the comedy too broad and the tone unreal. However, last season regained its footing about halfway into its run to become one of the show’s best.

I mention this because, although the final season has plenty of time to turn things around, as of right now… hoo-boy. If I thought that the season premiere got a little too goofy (I did), I didn’t know what goofy was until I saw Hostage Situation. But it’s actually worse than that because at least the premiere was clearly trying to be funny sometimes and dramatic at others.

Girls Season 6 Episode 2 Review: Hostage Situation

  • TVfanatic
Has Hannah actually grown up and gained some self-awareness?

Girls Season 6 Episode 2 appears to suggest that the impossible has, in fact, happened. With a disastrous trip upstate, Hannah lays out some harsh truths for Marnie.

Meanwhile, back in the city, Shosh has some realizations of her own about her relationship with Jessa and her friendships.

Some of Girls' best moments take place when said girls are out of the city, thrust into new and strange environments. This was the case for Hannah with the Girls Season 6 Premiere, when she was in Montauk for the majority of the season opener.

Similarly, "Hostage Situation" found Hannah reluctantly accompanying Marnie and Desi on their secret "jaunt" to Poughkeepsie. Fittingly, that was where Marnie and Desi's relationship reached its (hopefully) final breaking point.

The revelation that Desi is actually a drug addict was, in itself, not terribly surprising. Desi has always had a

Blake Lively and Sister Robyn Have a Case of the Giggles While Walking Through NYC
Blake Lively and sister Robyn Lively have been having a whirlwind adventure in NYC this week. After celebrating Galentine's Day with their mom at a L'Oréal event and attending the Michael Kors runway show hand in hand for New York Fashion Week, the two were photographed walking through the city together on Wednesday. Although they looked absolutely gorgeous (as usual), what we really want to know is what had them cracking up. Did they just read one of Ryan Reynolds's hilarious tweets, perhaps? Or maybe one of the photographers made a Teen Witch joke? Either way, we can't get enough of how adorable they are. Related:Celebrity Siblings You Probably Didn't Know About

It was all hearts and balloons when the gals showed up to an event on Monday night. Blake looked super festive in a SemSem blue mini-dress with red and white hearts all over it, and paired the style with a red sequin Chanel bag and black studded heels.

To top it all off, the 29-year-old actress had her hair done up in the shape of a heart.

Stars: Michael Madsen, Rachel Hunter, Shandi Finnessey, Terri Ivens, Rib Hillis, Angie Savage, Chris De Christopher, Kurt Yaeger, Noah Blake | Written by J. Brad Wilke, Mike MacLean | Directed by Jim Wynorski

When a rogue scientist discovers an immense egg in the dark recesses of a rainforest he thinks hes stumbled across his fame and fortune. But little does he know that it belongs to a terrifying hybrid monster, known only as the Piranhaconda (a moniker only mentioned once in the Entire film and dismissed as a stupid name!). Soon the beast is on the loose, hunting for its unborn child, rampaging through the country and destroying everything in its path in a mass of CGI-enhanced gory-glory.

A killer-creature B-movie from the Roger Corman staple, Piranhaconda is yet another made for Syfy TV movie suprisingly this one comes from director Jim Wynorski, who is well-known in the horror community for successfully mixing T&A and horror.

Robyn Lively is one proud big sister.

While at the iHeart80s party over the weekend, Blake Lively's sibling praised the 29-year-old actress for being a great mother to daughters James, 2, and 3-month-old Ines. "This is where she belongs," Robyn, who has three children of her own, gushed to Et's Nischelle Turner. "She has my children and I have her children, [and] we're like, 'No, those are my children!' She's like, 'No, your children are my children.' We always argue about it. She's the best."

Blake Lively Hits the Red Carpet With Her Famous Sister and Casts a Spell on Us
Blake Lively was in good company at the People's Choice Awards in La on Wednesday night. The actress glowed in a black minidress and was joined by her older sister Robyn, who's famously known for her role in the 1989 classic film Teen Witch. The sisters played up their sweet chemistry on the red carpet as they hugged and shared a few laughs for the cameras. Inside, Blake took home the award for favorite dramatic movie actress for her role in The Shallows. During her speech, she encouraged girls to speak their minds and then jokingly yelled at fans in the audience about husband Ryan Reynolds, saying, "You can't have him! He's mine!" Just before her arrival, Blake posted an Instagram snap of herself getting ready and thanked her glam team for "making me look like I slept more than 2 hours last night." Perhaps Ryan Reynolds stayed home with their daughters,

‘Teen Witch’ comes to Blu-ray?!

We don’t normally do Blu-ray release announcements here on Nerdly, but when one of my favourite 80s teen movies (I mean that sincerely, despite how much the film is derided) is set for feature-packed release, I can’t help but shout it from the rooftops!

What film could possibly get me this excited you might ask? Well probably not if you’ve read the title of this post… I digress… but yes, Teen Witch - that pantheon of 80s chic and the butt of numerous “bad movie” jokes – is set for a Blu-ray release in the Us next year from Kino Lorber/Scorpion Releasing. Just check out that cover art:

From the press release:

Romance is the most powerful spell of all…or so one teenager learns in this fun teen fantasy starring Robyn Lively (Chicago Hope), Zelda Rubinstein (the Poltergeist trilogy), Dan Gauthier (Beverly Hills, 90210) and Dick Sargent

‘Beauty And The Beast’ Trailer: Emma Watson Is The Disney Princess Of Our Dreams

‘Beauty And The Beast’ Trailer: Emma Watson Is The Disney Princess Of Our Dreams
With hits and award winners like “Chicago” and “Dreamgirls” under his belt, Bill Condon is largely credited with reigniting our love for movie musicals, which makes him an ideal filmmaker to helm Disney’s live action “Beauty and the Beast.” Bringing the iconic love story to life is certainly no easy task, but Condon has teamed with a star-studded cast to deliver all the dark shades and razzle dazzle the story deserves.

‘The Escape’: Clive Owen Returns as The Driver in Neill Blomkamp’s New BMW Short Film — Watch
You’ll forgive “The Escape” if it plays up some of the more eye-popping attributes of BMW’s line of luxury vehicles — like that they can single-handedly bring down a helicopter, given the appropriate method of connection, sure, okay — if only because the automaker has again footed the bill for superb slice of action-centric short filmmaking.

BMW Films famously employed a murderer’s row of directing talent, including John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee, Wong Kar-wai, Guy Ritchie, Alejandro González Iñárritu, John Woo, Joe Carnahan and Tony Scott, back in the early aughts to helm their “The Hire” short film series, and it seems as if they’re looking to get back into the driver’s seat again. This time around, Neill Blomkamp has taken the reins of a short entitled “The Escape,
