A sad and strong people living in the huge plains of Alentejo. Their endless struggle for bread, their nostalgic, bewitching songs and their daily toil to turn a dry, barren land into golden wheat fields.
Although there is not a central history on the movie, the shots of the city after the '85 earthquake shows the real state of the city and its habitants. The long walks of Lola let us see the dirty walls and old buildings up to fall. Maybe the last chance to remember how was the city.
