Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

PG for Frightening Images, Language and Some Crude Humor.

A few minutes into the movie, when Fred Savage is eating peanut butter and onion sandwich, he watches a fictional TV show that shows a woman a few times wearing a very tiny bikini. About an hour into the movie there is a mention of watching the Playboy Channel. There is mention of an "over-the-shoulder boulder holder" (meaning a woman's bra).

Violence & Gore

A monster rips a child's head off and throws it in a basket (no blood or gore, but there are no cuts in the scene and is quite nightmarish). A monster that resembles a human child has its face melted off. Some of the pranks that the monsters play on humans (i.e. emptying a bottle of apple juice and replacing it with urine) are fairly cruel.

10/10 not for children Around Blasphemy used, Lords name in vein, Jesus Christ name used as a swear word, disguising for a kids film 6 or 7 uses of Sh*t, a few other milder profanities (g*ddamn, piss, hell). Pretty strong for a PG film aimed at children.

Throughout the movie there are many intense moments, and many times showing people's frustration with each other. There are a few scenes involving "scary monster activity" that even some tweens could consider frightening or disturbing.
