After slashing Dr Loomis and killing a policeman, Michael goes looking for Jamie who has climbed into a laundry chute in an attempt to hide. When Michael makes a stab for her, Jamie loses her handhold and tumbles to the bottom of the chute, so Michael goes downstairs to get her. Not able to fit inside the chute, Michael repeatedly stabs at it, but Jamie manages to climb back to the top and escape into the candlelit attic where she finds the bodies of Max, Mike, and Rachel. With nowhere else to run as Michael climbs the steps into the attic, Jamie lays down in a large basket that Michael has been using for a bed. When Michael raises his knife to stab her, Jamie says, 'Uncle...boogyman' and Michael stops. Jamie asks to see his face, so Michael takes off his mask. When Jamie reaches up to touch his face, however, he becomes enraged and replaces the mask. Meanwhile, Jamie runs down the attic stairs, right into the arms of Dr Loomis, bloody but alive. Loomis grabs Jamie and uses her to taunt Michael, who slowly advances on them. Suddenly, a large metal net falls on Michael, capturing him. Loomis shoots him with four tranquilizer darts and beats him with a board until Michael is knocked out. Loomis then collapses on top of him. The scene shifts to the Haddonfield Police Department where Michael is locked and chained in a cell. Jamie is assured by the police that Michael will be placed in a maximum security facility where he will stay till he dies. 'He'll never die,' Jamie replies. She is then escorted out to a policecar waiting to take her back to the clinic. At a side door, the man in black with the steel-tipped boots can be seen entering the station. Suddenly, an explosion and several gunshots rock building. Jamie is told to stay in the car while the policeman goes inside to help. In the final scene, Jamie walks alone through the station, past the bodies of dead officers, until she reaches Michael's cell, only to discover it empty. 'No!' she screams. 'No!'
