what a great show this was...
3 September 2004 | by (Germany) – See all my reviews

I have to say that I always thought "Saved By The Bell" was an under-rated, smartly written and genuinely funny show with some great performers. In my opinion, the funniest people in the show were Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zach and Dustin Diamond as Screech. The thing I liked about SBTB was that it was a great "easy on the brain" show to chill-out to whenever it was on, whether it be morning, noon or night. It was usually always predictable but it had a good old-fashioned charm much along the lines of "Happy Days" with similar likable, good looking characters who were also, let's say, a bit 1-dimensional. "Saved By The Bell" was full of typical sitcom people in typical sitcom situations but that was all part of the show's charm. I wouldn't exactly call the show a classic but it was definitely a show I really enjoyed watching back in the 90s and have enjoyed the repeats even more. I also liked the follow-up series "The New Class" although I much prefer the original "Saved By The Bell" show with the original and best cast of characters and, I mean, who can ever forget Tiffani Amber Thiessen as a cheerleader...
