(1991-1992) Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) jumps into an experimental device called the an Accelerator and winds up unhinged in time and space and landing in the skin of strangers. Dean Stockwell is the wise-cracking, womanizing “Al,” who can momentarily project himself into Sam’s reality and provide him with the key information he needs to “complete” his character’s story. It’s equal parts science fiction drama and guardian angel fantasy with a historical twist. At times Sam lands in key historical events, at other times into unique experiences, and in the season premiere episode The Leap Back, he reunites with his long-lost wife while Al is stuck in 1945 on a mission to save a former POW and his wife. 22 episodes in a box set of 3 2-sided discs in 3 thinpak cases.
