Borg, Christian Borg
RavenGlamDVDCollector7 August 2014
The cherry on top of my evening! I have just solved a puzzle! I have been trying to identify this TV series for years. I live in South Africa and during the early Nineties it was on the state-run TV channel late on Fridays, dubbed into Afrikaans (sort of South African Dutch) as Borg, Christiaan Borg or something like that. Yes, it was corny as hell, atrociously embarrassing, and you felt like an idiot for watching, but the girls were pretty. And their style of dressing... I can't go into details anymore, it's been too long ago, just vague snippets of memories come jumping up. Christiaan alone with some girl on a long journey on some mission...

... Like a watered-down James Bond movie...

Point is, I could not identify this thing after all these years. Searching for it on the Net just brought religious people popping up. Just now I tried "Borg, Christian Borg. German TV series" and that made all the difference. Thanks to my 'colleague' here who posted one other review otherwise this would never have existed, I suppose!

What I well remember was the song, In the Playground of the Joker.

It is totally unlikely that this would ever be available on DVD as it is very unlikely to sell more than one copy. Mine.

The worst TV-series ever - so bad that it is good
Graah16 August 2004
This German (?) TV-series was, for some incomprehensible reason, bought to Finland and shown late at night by YLE (our state-funded TV corporation).

They had one script for the entire series. Christian Borg, a _very_ bad imitation of a "secret agent", arrived into this rich man's mansion. A talking lion statue complained about its' boredom (no, I'm not making this up!). In the mansion, the rich guy introduced some kind of a job or a problem somewhere, where Christian Borg had to travel to. They actually shot this in various holiday resorts around the world. There, Christian Borg always met some girl. This or some other girl was always shown topless at one point of the episode (they might have thought this would inspire someone to watch this crap). There was some action sequences, fights, bad guys, etc. and then Christian Borg solved the situation (or not). Oh, and his tagline was "Mitt namn ist Borg. Christian Borg" (or something like that, I don't know German).

The acting was terrible, the plots were horrible, music was camp, had ridiculous "gadgets" none of which made even as much sense as the talking lion statue. They did manage to stay in focus and film (tape?) it okay. The only professionals around were the cameramen and sound men?

This was so bad that it was actually hilarious.

Donald Duck or James Bond
mikagranlund-9937423 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I love Donald Duck from my youth , I followed " Jolly Joker" , it was a real Donald . As Donald he is a "loser" , no money, no job, so many debts , his uncle does work all over Earth to repay many debts.

The affairs of his uncle often are not honest or moral, and the nephew is trying to do his best to made things be better.

So he is between Donald Duck and James Bond.

As James Bond, he like the women, but he protect those girls, girls don't die, it's a savior.

Christian Borg is just too naive with the uncle and with women, but he is so charming.
