For those wondering, NBC's new Ryan Murphy sitcom "The New Normal," about a gay couple and the surrogate carrying their child, definitely has the Murphy magic touch -- it's emotional and hilarious at the same time. "What a wonderful touch, too," says star Georgia King, who plays the woman carrying the couple's baby, when Zap2it catches up with her on the NBC Upfront red carpet on May 14.
"Oh yes, honey. Very much a genius. He has a great director, he has a great eye -- I have to say thank you to Ryan Murphy because he totally changed my life," adds Nene Leakes, who recurs as the assistant to one half of the couple and got her role after Murphy recruited her for a guest spot on "Glee."
The wardrobe on the new show is much more Nene than her wardrobe on "Glee." "For people who know me from Coach Roz, »

This is some seriously bad timing. Just as last night's episode of Glee ended, news broke that anti-gay Amendment 1 had passed in North Carolina. I know I had some strong feelings about "Prom-asaurus" while I was watching it, but suddenly my thoughts on Blaine's hair, and who was and wasn't graduating, and Quinn's machinations to become prom queen, just vanished.
On the other hand, I am still really pissed off that Finn and Rachel kissed three times, and every random unknown strange prom couple got to make out while dancing, but Klaine and Brittana? Barely touched.
Although, you know, they were there, and dancing together, and that is something. Not enough. But something.
We open with an apparently very confused Rachel lamenting that all her dreams are now over, but at least she has Finn. What happened to the girl who just three weeks ago was saying even if she »

“Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover” is a proverb whose simple existence proves the fact impressionable souls will do so without fail. This monthly column focuses on the film industry’s willingness to capitalize on this truth, releasing one-sheets to serve as not representations of what audiences are to expect, but as propaganda to fill seats. Oftentimes they fail miserably.

There’s a good mix of work coming out in April and the posters do well to mirror such. I’m not quite sure how Rodrigo Cortés‘ could have his first film Buried possess one of the best poster series of 2010 and then return to big screens with the lackluster Vodka Creative sheet for Atm, but not everything can be perfect.
I can’t complain too much, however, since the month does bring some quality pieces of marketing material. And while Jack Black‘s creepy pedo-stash and Cardinal »

Considering it's where most of us (bar the weird home-schooled kids) spend our crucial formative years, where we have our first fights, our first loves, our first tentative steps into adulthood, it's no surprise that high school has long been a popular setting for movies. A range of genres (though generally leaning towards comedy) have taken place in those hallways, particularly from the 1980s onwards, when John Hughes, among others, made an entire career out of the lives and loves of 15-18 year olds.
The latest film to head back to class is "21 Jump Street" (review here) the big-screen reboot of the '80s TV show, which stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as youthful-looking cops who are sent back to high school in order to bust a drug-running ring. While you might assume this to be another lazy remake, you'd be very wrong, as Tatum, Hill, co-writer Michael Bacall, »
