Storyline

Kevin Keene, a teenager from Northridge, California, is brought to another universe known as Videoland, along with his dog, Duke, to defeat the evil villainess, Mother Brain. Mother Brain is trying to conquer Videoland. Kevin has been brought to defeat her, as foretold in an Ancient Prophecy. Kevin is given the title "Captain N: The Game Master". He and Duke join the N Team, which consists of Princess Lana (the Ruler of Videoland), Simon Belmont (the hero from Castlevania), Mega Man, Kid Icarus, and Gameboy (a giant supercomputer). The N Team goes up against the evil Mother Brain (the villain from Metroid) and her minions, King Hippo (Punch-Out), the Eggplant Wizard (Kid Icarus), and Dr. Wily (Mega Man). These forces of good and evil go up against each other and often find themselves in comical, hilarious situations. Written by Mark Moore <kevinkeene@geocities.com>

Trivia

For the most part the episodes can be viewed in any order, but there are some exceptions here and there: -Kevin In Videoland must happen first, as it explain's Kevin being sucked into Videoland. -Videolympics/Mega Trouble For Megaland takes place BEFORE Happy Birthday Megaman. This is because the former episode is Kevin's first time meeting Dr. Right. -Mr. And Mrs. Mother Brain is the first episode to happen on Castlevania, identifiable by Kevin's "first glance" reaction of the castle. -Gameboy (the episode) happens after Season One but before all other Season Two episodes (identifiable by Gameboy being in all other Season Two episodes.) -Quest for the Potion of Power is the first Link/Zelda episode, as Kevin meets the two of them for the first time here. The Best Cartoon Ever
1 November 1999 | by See all my reviews

Captain N: The Gamemaster was the epitome of what a cartoon should be. It had cool characters that you could care about: Kevin Keene, Princess Lana, Mega Man, Kid Icarus, and yes, even Simon Belmont. The show also had characters from other great video games make cameos. I remember loving and "still" loving this show so much, I boycotted NBC for several years since they didn't acknowledge my suggestion for possible plots and why the show should continue to air and the terrible job done in the final season. But anyways, I recommend all of you to check out an old video store, swing by a Captain N homepage, or better yet, petition to get this back on the air. I hope everyone has the opportunity to view the greatest cartoon series ever made.
