Sharon's middle name is given as Perpetua. This is the real middle name of Pauline Quirke, who plays Sharon.

The series originally ran from October 16th 1989 until December 24th 1994. With a special flashback episode, The Chigwell Years, broadcast on March 3rd 1996. And the series returned on May 26th 1997 until the last episode on the December 24th 1998.

David Cardy played Chris Theodopolopodus, in 1989, during the first series. He was later replaced by Peter Polycarpou in 1990, from the second series until the sixth, in 1994. However, David Cardy took over the role again in 1997, from the seventh series until the end of the series run.

The series five episode "A Brush With The Law" features a reference to the British pop duo, Right Said Fred. In the begining of the episode, Tracey is singing the song "Stick It Out" by Right Said Fred. Both Linda Robson and Pauline Quirke appeared in the music video.
