Anderson Was "Just Joking" About Having Five Years Left

11 November 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sexy actress Pamela Anderson was "only joking" when she declared her hepatitis C disease would kill her in five to 10 years, according to her ex-husband Tommy Lee. Last month, the former Baywatch beauty shocked fans when she told reporters the liver-crippling condition - which she claims she contracted from ex-Motley Crue drummer Lee - would likely be the cause her death in a handful of years. She said, "I've got a good five to 10 years left. I feel good. Pretty good. But it is deadly. I've got to make sure I'm around. Every time I have a health check my liver is getting healthier." Anderson even said had adopted a healthier lifestyle in an attempt to survive long enough to see her young sons Dylan, five, and Brandon, seven, turn 21. But Lee, who has rekindled his friendship with Canadian-born Anderson, insists, "She was joking. Somebody asked her how she's doing or how she's feeling and she goes, 'I got a good five or 10 in me.' And it was just a joke. You know how it's typical; they take just the little bits... It's kinda crazy. She was kidding. She was totally kidding. She's fine." »

Fears for Pammie's Health

Fans fear Pamela Anderson is risking her health, after the actress was filmed drinking alcohol on a Swedish television show. The ex-Baywatch babe, who suffers from Hepatitis C, stunned fans on Monday when she told American radio presenter Howard Stern her condition meant she had only five to 10 years left to live. She insisted she would maintain a healthy lifestyle for the sake of her kids with ex-husband, rocker Tommy Lee - a key element of which is abstinence from alcohol, as Hepatitis suffers have a severely weakened liver. Scandinavian fans of the busty actress were therefore stunned to see her openly swigging a local brew on Swedish show High Chaparral. A devotee tells American news site The Scoop, "She was on a show called High Chaparral and she drank Glögg - an alcoholic drink Swedes drink at Christmas - and red wine. Now they're having a contest where you can win her wine glass and Glögg glass." »

Pam Gets Tough with KFC

Pamela Anderson is urging fans to boycott Kentucky Fried Chicken fast food restaurants after learning how cruel techniques are used to make the chain's poultry treats. The former Baywatch babe has also written to John Bitove, the chairman of KFC Canada, urging him to call for improvements in the way the company treats its chickens - as she starts a campaign to discredit the fast food chain with the support of animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA). In the letter, she rants, "If people knew how KFC treats its chickens, they'd never eat another drumstick." She goes on to cites the scalding of live birds and the use of crippling drugs among her top concerns. She adds, "I am shocked to learn from my pals at PETA that KFC has refused to take steps to eliminate some of the worst abuses suffered by the hundreds of millions of chickens who are killed for your restaurants. Please face the facts: KFC is torturing birds and then trying to pretend that there is nothing wrong with that. In the 21st century, we're advanced enough to oppose all cruelty and injustice, whether the victims are animals or people." Anderson, who is also fronting a new campaign to stop the use of wild animals in Las Vegas, Nevada, stage shows following the tiger attack which left Siegfried & Roy star Roy Horn fighting for his life, joins Sir Paul McCartney in PETA's international campaign to get KFC to eliminate the worst abuses of chickens. »

Pamela Anderson Attacked on Flight

18 June 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson was attacked twice by a drunken passenger onboard a flight from Florida to California on Saturday. Louis Zizza, 52, "exploded in anger" at the star on the American Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles - because he assumed she was one of the many stars to have spoken out against the war in Iraq. The outburst alarmed the crew so much, they had police waiting at Los Angeles International Airport. But Zizza - a Los Angeles native - plays down the incident. He explains, "I didn't think that expressing an opinion would bring such an attraction of police officers. There were so many of them." Zizza, who was sitting in economy class, reportedly approached Anderson in the first class cabin and screamed as he shook his finger at her. Sources say he was ordered to go back to his seat and did, but approached Anderson a second time in the same threatening manner. A now remorseful Zizza says, "Yes, I want to make a personal apology to Ms. Pamela Anderson for my behavior. I mistook her for someone else and I deeply sorry for it. I made a mistake and I apologize for it." Zizza won't say whom he thought Anderson was, but he denies being loud and aggressive towards her and says he wasn't drunk. Ironically, Anderson spoke of her support of the American troops in a recent edition of Stuff magazine, stating, "You have to support the people who are over there, even though you may not agree with war. Nobody agrees with war. I just support them." »

Terrified Bruce Steps in As Late Night TV Host

28 February 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Bruce Willis has fought bad guys, saved the world and seen dead people on the big screen but he faced his toughest challenge on TV in America Wednesday night. The movie hunk, who was scheduled to appear on The Late Show to promote his new film Tears Of The Sun, found himself hosting the show when chat show titan David Letterman phoned in sick - with an eye infection. Admitting he was terrified, Willis did a good job of hosting the hour-long late- night show, interviewing news man Dan Rather about his chat with Saddam Hussein and Baywatch babe Carmen Electra, who was brought in at the last minute to help boost the show. The actor also had fun playing harmonica with Letterman's house band, took out his frustrations by smashing up a pile of CDs with a sledgehammer and even dressed up for a skit to promote his new film, in which he pretended to be a number of different people raving about his new war film. But there was no mistaking his nerves at the beginning of the show. He said, "I am not David Letterman, I'm Bruce Willis. Dave is home with a little eye problem and I couldn't be more honored and I couldn't be more scared to death to be here." Never one to miss an opportunity to promote a new project, Willis closed his stint as a late night TV host by saying, "I've just spoken to Dave on the phone and he doesn't want cards or flowers or any of that junk. He just wants you to go and see my new movie Tears Of The Sun on March 7." »
