There's no word on what went wrong this time, other than "irreconcilable differences," but perhaps the issues that plagued them in the past just came back to haunt them. All seemed pretty well when the couple »

John Cleese to play villain in unofficial Baywatch movie

8 July 2014 4:32 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

John Cleese has reportedly joined the cast of an unofficial Baywatch movie.

Due to legal issues, the film cannot use the Baywatch name and brand, but stars several of the original stars and follows the same plot as the 1990s TV series.

David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson and Alexandra Paul will return in The B-Team, to be directed by Chris Cottam, according to The Independent.

The film will play on the joke conspiracy that the cast were actually working for the CIA as spies while travelling across the world during the show's popularity.

Monty Python star Cleese is said to be playing a "classic English villain" named Victor Van Vaught, who aims to control nuclear weapons from his yacht in the Mediterranean.

Alexandra Paul said of the project: "The B Team is an action comedy with some reality thrown in. We play ourselves, so the audience might not know what is »

The fifth season of MTV’s “Teen Wolf” will receive $11.5 million in tax credits, the highest of the 26 new allocations from California’s Film and Television Tax Credit program for the 2014-15 fiscal year.

With $77.6 million, “Teen Wolf” and 11 other continuing series took the lion’s share of the $100 million in allocations.

“Teen Wolf,” which relocated from Georgia in 2012, will receive a credit for nearly 25% of its $46.3 million in qualified costs. Most projects receive 20% allocations, but TV series that filmed all previous episodes outside California are eligible for a 25% credit.

“Teen Wolf” topped a pair of Horizon series — “Rizzoli & Isles” with $8.9 million and “Pretty Little Liars” with $8.4 million — followed by  Warner Bros.’ “Major Crimes” with $7.9 million.

The California Film Commission, which administers the five-year-old program, disclosed the allocations Tuesday. It had made the initial lottery selections from 497 applications on June 2, but held off for a month in order to verify eligibility. »

Get Ready for David Hasselhoff's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'-Style TV Show

30 June 2014 11:00 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

David Hasselhoff is taking a cue from another David -- Larry David, that is -- with a new improvised comedy series set to debut on UK television.

Like David's HBO show "Curb Your Enthusiasm" before it, "Hoff the Record" will focus on a fictionalized version of Hasselhoff, to be "set 30 years after he made his name with popular teatime drama 'Knight Rider,'" according to Radio Times.

"Following five divorces -- the real Hasselhoff has been through a mere two -- and some misguided career decisions, the series sees Hoff moving to the UK to try to get his career back on track," Radio Times wrote of the show.

Iain Coyle, commissioning editor of UKTV, called the series "funny, clever and bizarre -- in a good way."

Co-stars are expected to be announced shortly. "Hoff the Record" is set to run for six episodes beginning next year, on a network called Dave. »

Before Marvel Studios, Samuel L. Jackson and ABC's "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.",  there was "Baywatch" actor David Hasselhoff delivering a 'Jack Burton'-type comic book performance in director Rod Hardy's 1998 TV movie, "Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.", produced by Marvel's Stan Lee and written by David Goyer ("Man Of Steel"), based on the Marvel Comics character, inspired by the illustrations of Jim Steranko, with actress Sandra Hess as 'Andrea von Strucker' aka 'Viper'.

"I was the first 'Nick Fury'", said Hasselhoff.

"...'Nick Fury', retired, is approached to return to duty to take down agents of the terrorist organization 'Hydra', led by the children of 'Baron Wolfgang von Strucker', an old enemy of his. Hydra has reconstituted a pathogen known as the 'Death's Head' virus, and threatens to attack Manhattan with it, barring payment of Us $1 billion..."

Taormina Film Festival: Where Cinema Takes a Backseat to Glamour

24 June 2014 3:59 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

If you should have the good fortune to visit Sicily in June, the last thing you want to do is sit inside and watch movies. That’s just as well for the Taormina Film Festival, since half the movies are shown outdoors in the Teatro Antico, and the other half no one wants to see anyway.

Taormina is the first film festival I’ve attended where film seems to be the least important thing going on. Three years ago, the event was on the brink of bankruptcy when Tiziana Rocca took the reins and rescued it. One thing I’ve learned about Southern Italy this week: When life gives them lemons, they make limoncello.

A publicity maven from Rome, Rocca instinctively understood that glamour would be the way to bring attention back to Taormina. And so, for eight nights in the middle of June, the city becomes the backdrop for starry awards shows, »

Recap: 'True Blood' Premiere - 'Jesus Gonna Be Here'

22 June 2014 7:15 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Welcome to the seventh and final season of "True Blood"! When a great, long-running show comes to the end of its run, it feels like the end of an era, and this is a great show. Or at least it was. It peaked around the time Russell Edgington pulled the news anchor’s spine out on live TV, then sat down to address the camera. and proceeded to show Howard Beale how it’s done. And the last couple of seasons were real off-road torture tests, raising troubling questions about the motives and abilities of almost everyone involved, starting with Rutger Hauer’s agent.  Ultimately, the big question faithful viewers were left asking was, as Richard Pryor once so eloquently put it, “How long will this bullsh*** go on?” Now we know: whether the show rallies and pulls out of its tailspin or continues to spiral toward the Earth like »
