Trivia:
Marie's farewell letter is based on a quote by Isaac Newton: "I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."See more »
Goofs:
Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Marie talks to Albert in the Lunatic Asylum's shower room, "If you won't do anything, who will?" is dubbed over "If you won't do anything, I will."See more »
Quotes:
Brian Asprin:[Scientists in Australia are listening to Einstein playing Rock and Roll music on the radio] That's Albert's music.
Lunatic Professor:Yes, crikey yes! That's 4/4 time.
Ernest Rutherford:4/4 time; that'll drain the power out of anything.
Marie Curie:[Scene returns to the Academy of science in France, Einstein continues to play the electric guitar, the 'Extreme Danger' warning light on the bomb flashes then goes out, the 'Overload' warning light starts flashing showing that the bomb is been drained of its energy] It's working. Whatever you are doing keep doing it, it's working!

You got to love the idea, 20 February 2002
Author: bas rutten from Eindhoven, the Netherlands

"Young Einstein" is not a great movie. It's not really a good movie either. But it's an original, low-budget and very likeable movie.

Of course, it's all complete nonsense. The plot involves Yahoo Serious splitting beer atoms, inventing the electric violin and the surfing board, running into the cute Marie Curie and having a very bad hair day, and is of course full of anachronisms and other factual errors.

But does that really matter? No, of course not. This movie takes a very light and novel approach to making a movie about science. Not all the jokes are good. In fact, most are pretty bad. But at least most of them are original. And the parts were Young Einstein explains some concepts of relativity are great !

The only explanation I can give for the low rating this movie currently has is that most people simply don't understand the jokes. If you don't know what splitting an atom is, and if you don't know that beer-atoms are none-existent, then you probably hate this movie. Otherwise, it's worth a look.

**1/2 out of **** stars
