Author: Scott Davis

There has been much speculation regarding the future of the Terminator franchise and what’s next in the long-long of sequels and timeline alterations, but we now have some idea of what is happening as star Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced that he will be back for a sixth film.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival whilst promoting environmental documentary Wonders Of The Sea 3D, for which he is a producer and the film’s narrator, the actor told Screen International that a new film is being prepped and that he and creator James Cameron are both involved:

“It is back… It is moving forward. He [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise…I will be in the movie.”

The initial conceit was that 2015’s Terminator Genisys would get a sequel this year, but after the disappointing returns on the film ($440million worldwide but »

King Conan Movie Is Still Happening

20 May 2017 1:02 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier this year, Universal canceled The Legend of Conan, which would have had Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his iconic role from the original 1982 classic. Also known in some circles as King Conan, the movie was believed to be dead. Not true, says Schwarzenegger. As far as he's concerned, the movie is still happening.

Schwarzenegger was at Cannes this weekend to promote a new underwater documentary. But the talk quickly turned to his impending slate, which includes a recently announced Terminator reboot that James Cameron will be producing and the Twins sequel Triplets. King Conan was almost completely waxed over. But Arnie stopped short for an update, confirming that things are moving forward.

"It's being rewritten...the idea is to do it."

What we don't have confirmed from the action icon is whether or not the sequel is still at Universal. Arnold has been teasing this movie since 2012, which is actually not that long in Hollywood years. »

A Funny Ghostbusters Reference in Kindergarten Cop I Never Caught Before

1 May 2017 4:30 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

When Arnold Schwarenegger first teamed up with Ivan Reitman to make Twins with Danny DeVito, no one knew what to expect.   This was Conan the Barbarian and The Terminator trying out comedy for God’s sake.  How in the world could he pull this off?  Turns out he did and he did it extremely well.  In fact he did so well that he teamed up with Reitman again to make the movie Kindergarten Cop.  While it wasn’t as good as Twins it was pretty awesome in its own right.  I’m pretty sure everyone in the world knows the line “It’s not

Arnold Schwarzenegger says Twins sequel Triplets is still moving ahead and could shoot this year

8 April 2017 9:15 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn’t had the best of luck with sequels lately. Paramount pulled the plug on its planned Terminator Genisys follow-up, The Legend of Conan has been abandoned, Arnold said he’ll not return for The Expendables 4 without Sylvester Stallone, and he also revealed he passed on the opportunity to reprise the role of Dutch in The Predator.

Well, it seems we may still see the action icon returning to one of his former roles, with Schwarzenegger telling EW that the long-gestating Twins follow-up Triplets is still moving ahead and could start shoot by the end of the year:

“We are just now working on Triplets,” said Schwarzenegger. “That is on top of the list, for me. Because I’ve been trying to do that for 20 years. Ivan Reitman (the director of Twins) believes in it. Danny DeVito believes in it — who always believed in it — and Eddie Murphy believes in it. »

So Arnold Schwarzenegger is Going to be in a Twins Sequel with Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy

7 April 2017 12:00 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

It’s literally been almost 30 years since Arnold Schwarzenegger did his first comedy.  In 1988 Ivan Reitman took a chance and directed an incredibly funny comedy that starred the action star and Danny DeVito as none other than Twins.    No one could believe it.  How would the star of The Terminator, Conan the Barbarian, Commando, and The Predator even be remotely funny?  But Twins was great.   Movie goers and critics loved it and Arnold showed us that he was more than just an action star.  Schwarzenegger did Kindergarten Cop shortly after that which was also successful.   Junior on the other

Twins 2 Begins Shooting This Year?

7 April 2017 10:07 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn't want to give up on reviving some of his most iconic movie roles. Even though his last turn as Terminator didn't do what anyone hoped it would and with his Conan sequel now dead in the water, it looks like we are going to finally get that Twins sequel everyone has been begging for. According to him, the movie is a top priority and could begin filming sometime this year.

The actor recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming movie Aftermath, but the conversation turned to his long-gestating sequel to the 1988 comedy Twins, which is going to be titled Triplets. The movie will star Eddie Murphy as the third brother, which is a pretty obvious comedic angle when looking at him next to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. It turns out that, as things have shuffled around a bit, the movie has become his top priority »

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The Legend of Conan is dead

7 April 2017 5:04 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Author: Scott Davis

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been in the news quite a lot in the last week as he continues his promotional push for his new movies Aftermath, which is cinemas today (read our review here). And while the big Austrian is talking primarily about his new drama, some of the questions turned to both his upcoming projects and their long-gestating sequels.

With news that Schwarzenegger would bail on The Expendables franchise if Sylvester Stallone does indeed officially exit, similar sad news has come to light from screenwriter Chris Morgan (The Fate of the Furious) who has said that The Legend of Conan, the sequel that would have seen Arnold return to the title role he made famous in the early 1980’s, is dead.

Chatting with EW, the writer said that the film, which would have seen an Unforgiven-styled sequel with an old Conan, is over:

Arnold Schwarzenegger Discusses Long Gestating Twins Sequel

6 April 2017 11:57 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

1988 was a unique year in film history. For every Die Hard and Who Framed Roger Rabbit that debuted, we had odd films like Earth Girls Are Easy, Cocktail, and the comedy Twins, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito who play brothers who were separated at birth. For some reason the movie made over $200 Million Dollars that year (adjusted for inflation.) Keep in mind that Die Hard made only $174 Million Dollars that year (adjusted for inflation.) and you get a sense that all was not right with the world in the latter half of the 1980's.

Yahoo Movies is reporting that there is movement in the long in production sequel to that film which would be called Triplets. Eddie Murphy would star along with Arnold and DeVito playing their other long lost brother. According to Arnold...

Paramount Pictures Responds To Disappointing Ghost In The Shell Box Office Results

6 April 2017 1:25 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

The CBC has a story up about executives at Paramount responding to the weak box office results of the new Scarlett Johansson movie Ghost In The Shell. Based on the insanely popular manga series, the film stars Scarlett as Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg counter-terrorisim operative.

The main controversy the film faced was the casting of Scarlett Johansson as the main character. Fans of the series argued that her casting was another case of Hollywood white washing, taking a character that should have gone to a minority actor and filling it with a white actor. The studio would argue that the actress in this case, Scarlett Johansson, is a much more bankable star and had the ability to get the film seen by many more people. Making a movie that would placate just the hardcore fans of the series would not make this a potential franchise. Kyle Davies from Paramount Pictures had this to say. »

Ivan Reitman Is Developing a New Version of the 1981 Comedy 'Stripes'

4 April 2017 1:30 PM, PDT | Movies.com | See recent Movies.com news »

Ivan Reitman is primarily known as being behind some of the great comedies of all time, either as a director, a producer or both. From Stripes to Animal House to Meatballs to Ghostbusters to Twins, Reitman had a lot to do with the influx of more dirtier and riskier comedies during the late-'70s and early '80s. Ghostbusters already got the reboot treatment last year, but Reitman is also hard at work on bringing back more of the properties he's best known for. Not only is a sequel to Twins (called Triplets) still in development, but he's also working on a new version of Stripes.  Reitman dished on the plans for Stripes while promoting the upcoming comedy Bastards at CinemaCon, where Fandango caught up with him. Arnold Schwarzenegger Still Believes in New ‘Terminator,’ ‘Twins’ and ‘Conan’ Sequels

4 April 2017 9:57 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Now that he’s done hosting “The Celebrity Apprentice,” Arnold Schwarzenegger has more time to focus on movies. The actor, governator and outspoken critic of Donald Trump reveals in a new ScreenCrush interview that this could include sequels to some of his best-known franchises: “I think you will see another ‘Terminator’ movie, another ‘Twins’ movie, and another ‘Conan,'” he says.

That answer is in response to a question about which of the three series is most likely to see a new installment; that the actor thinks all of them are probable would appear to suggest that plans are already being made. Asked which has the best chance of arriving first, Schwarzenegger is again firm in his response. “I would say maybe ‘Twins’ — or ‘Triplets’ I should say — because that is the easier one to prep, »

Newswire: It’s Rumor Time: Arnold Schwarzenegger might be in Wonder Woman

13 February 2017 8:02 AM, PST | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Now that Arnold Schwarzenegger is in his post-political-career phase, he’s lined up some interesting projects to break back into movies. Some are silly—like the rumored Twins sequel—and some are just downright ridiculous, like his New Celebrity Apprentice hosting gig. But ComicBook.com’s stumbled upon some internet scuttlebutt that actually sounds pretty cool, even if it requires a grain of salt the size of Themyscira. Apparently, some eagle-eyed Twitter subscribers recently noticed that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and DC Comics boss (and Ww co-writer) Geoff Johns started following the former Governator on Twitter.

If they weren’t currently attached to such a high-profile project, you might just think this means Jenkins and Johns enjoy Schwarzenegger’s sick presidential burns. But ComicBook.com and other publications believe this is a sign Schwarzenegger is being considered for a role in the movie, since Joe Manganiello drew a lot »

Arnold Schwarzenegger, A Career In Crisis: Why the ’80s Action Icon Can’t Mount a Comeback

26 January 2017 8:30 AM, PST | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

This can’t be what Arnold Schwarzenegger imagined 2017 to look like: Sure, there’s a reality star in the White House, the Chicago Cubs are World Series champions, and his arch-rival (/best celebrity friend), Sylvester Stallone, is a recent Academy Award nominee. Yet for the ex-governor of California, far more confounding is how he became an ex-celebrity.

Schwarzenegger spent his acting life amassing a domestic box office of more than $1.8 billion. That haul came from comedies, like “Twins” ($111 million); science fiction, like “Total Recall” ($119 million) and “Terminator 2” ($204 million); or — his bread and butter — action flicks a la “True Lies” ($146 million) and “Eraser” ($101 million). But one unfortunate connection for all of Schwarzenegger’s films grossing $100 million-plus: They were all made before the year 2000.

Since the dawn of the new millennium, Schwarzenegger’s name above the title has carried less weight at the box office, resulting in drastically lower figures. How he »

The New Celebrity Apprentice: Arnie terminates low-grade stars in premiere

3 January 2017 8:05 AM, PST | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

Schwarzenegger, the movie star turned politician, now turns Trump seat-filler as he takes over from the president-elect to bark at vaguely recognizable D-listers

You have to be – perhaps you always had to be – a certain type of person to watch The New Celebrity Apprentice. Perhaps that’s the kind of person who understands why they felt the need to rebrand it “The New” once Donald Trump had successfully used it to vault into the White House; or the kind of person who needs a montage to be reminded that Arnold Schwarzenegger was a bodybuilder who also starred in the Terminator movies and Twins before the show starts; or the kind of person whose vision of southern California can be defined, as it is in one interstitial, by a beautiful woman picking her bathing suit wedgie as the sun sets.
