Julius and Vincent Benedict are the results of an experiment that would allow for the perfect child. Julius was planned and grows to athletic proportions. Vincent is an accident and is somewhat smaller in stature. Vincent is placed in an orphanage while Julius is taken to a South Seas island and raised by philosophers. Vincent becomes the ultimate lowlife and is about to be killed by loan sharks when Julius discovers that he has a brother and begins looking for him. Written by

Julius wants to find his mother and uses a group picture of the six fathers, the doctors including Travon, and his mother as a key piece of evidence in his search. We know this because Julius uses the picture to convince Travon and the father played by Hugh O'BRIEN that he is who he says he is. However, when the twins come face to face with their mother at the artist colony they have no idea who she. It is not likely they wouldn't recognize her as they had her picture in hand and had been identifying people in it throughout the film. Armed with their mother's picture the story line should have come to an end the first time they saw her. See more »
Odd, but entertaining comedy finds Scwarzenegger on a tropical island where he's lived and been educated his entire life without interaction from the outside world. He learns that he's the result of a sophisticated experiment and that he and reckless con man DeVito are in fact twin brothers who were separated at birth. They finally meet and are dumbfounded to learn how alike they are, despite their physical dissimilarities and their drastically different upbringing. Initial ingredients of this comedy seem far-fetched and desperately protracted, but the film is enthusiastically performed and laugh-out loud funny, with a good sense of family values. It goes without saying that DeVito and Schwarzenegger are an awkward casting choice, yet they connect and only add to the film's overall enjoyment. ***
