Moonwalker (1988) Poster

While filming the scene outside the night club of Brandon Adams dancing, Michael Jackson sat just out of camera range, cracking up uncontrollably.
After the parody performance of "Bad", Brandon Quintin Adams as Young Michael asks his assistant what his pet monkey monkey Bubbles is wearing, to which he responds "He's wearing a Prince t-shirt and red sneakers". Young Michael says "A Prince T-shirt?" in a confused sarcastic tone, referencing the long great debate on Michael Jackson versus Prince.
It is reported the spontaneous gun shots by Jackson's character after "Smooth Criminal" was improvised by Jackson himself, who used a functional tommy gun and fired blanks to surprise everyone on and off set.
The car that Michael Jackson turns into during the Smooth Criminal segment is a Bertone-designed concept car called the Lancia Stratos Zero.
Frankie "Mr. Big" LiDeo is never addressed as "Mr. Big", nor referred to by name at all, except when he says his own name because he wants his name to be spelled right.
The bad guy's name is "Frank Lideo". One of the film's executive producers is Frank DiLeo, Michael Jackson's long-time manager.
Michael Jackson originally wanted the release the movie in theaters in the United States, but budget problems forced him to make it a straight to video release.
