This is another one of those nonsensical comedies from Hong Kong, but with a horror theme. Here, in this sequel to The Haunted Copshop, the Hong Kong Police Station is plagued with vampires and police officials fear there are more out in the city. Thus, the Superintendent recruit several police officers to join his "Ghostbusters" unit, where they are sent to a military base for training. While the new recruits undergo training, veteran "Ghostbuster" unit member Man-Chill (Ricky Hui) stumbles upon two coffins in a remote area within the base, the hideout of two fierce, female vampires.
Like its prequel, the movie is full of slapstick and goofy humor, and you need to be a true fan of nonsensical stuff in order to appreciate this stuff. However, the nonsensical content is somewhat scarce and there are several cool vampire horror and jump-out-at-you moments in the movie; all the vampires in the movie were executed pretty well and the scenes of them chasing our good guys around were entertaining to watch. Unlike its prequel, this movie does have more vampire and ghost action, but they are sometimes overshadowed by the goofy comic relief.
You will get a few scares and some good humor, but some of the ***spoiler ahead*** tragic human events and hero sacrifice inserted in the movie toward the end spoils the climax and fun for me. ***spoiler ends***
Overall, it's an OK Hong Kong horror-comedy. Not one of the best, but is worth a watch at least once.
Grade C+
