This film presents Dr. Donald Blake and Thor as two separate characters. In the comics Thor is in fact Blake's alter ego, which he transforms into by means of the hammer.

Lou Ferrigno wears a new wig as the Hulk in this TV movie and its sequels. The wig was changed because Ferrigno's hearing problems got worse and a new wig was required to better hide the new hearing aid he was using.

Thor went on to become the hero of his own film (Thor), and was then re-teamed with The Incredible Hulk as a member of The Avengers. Lou Ferrigno would voice the Hulk in the latter film as well.

Charles Napier, who plays the role of Mike Fouche, guest-starred twice on the original Hulk TV series as other characters. Additionally, he provided the growling sounds of The Hulk on the show.
