Storyline

The 1990 Hong Kong action classic, starring Yukari Oshima, is titled Brave Young Girls in the U.S. It is a very interesting story about two beautiful young women who are completely different. One woman is a skilled martial artist/police officer and the other is a prostitute, but they figure out that it is much better to work together to solve their problems. Otherwise their problems will get them, sooner than later. Written by GRAYnonstop

No fooling around
21 January 2003 | by (Hamburg, Germany) – See all my reviews

A Chinese girl goes illegally to Hong Kong to look for work and ends up as a prostitute. A Japanese female cop teams up with her to fight the bad guys. Average girls-with-guns action movie from Hong Kong. In the first half the various strings of the story are somewhat hard to follow, but maybe that's because the German version is cut down to 76 minutes only (thanks Mr Editor

  • need a new axe-blade?). Cynthia Luster has a great fight scene against

the drug dealers' boss in the end; it was not made to look artistic or spectacular - it's rough, realistic, go for the throat - I liked the down-to-earth attitude of the director here, no fooling around. Anyhow, all in all nobody can deny this movie is `a dime a dozen' and I voted 4/10.
