Directors Adam Green and Joe Lynch aren’t just successful horror filmmakers and best friends—they’re dog lovers, too. They’ll be putting their mouths where your money is for a live, three-day podcast to raise money for a dog rescue that’s near and dear to the heart of The Movie Crypt, the successful podcast Green and Lynch co-host weekly on GeekNation.
No lineup or list of guests have been made official yet, but The Movie Crypt has played host to countless actors, directors, and writers from the horror community since it launched in 2013, from Sid Haig and Kane Hodder, to Danielle Harris and Mick Garris, to Joe Dante and Leigh Whannell, to James Gunn and on and on and on. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these friends of the podcast stop by the “Save the Yorkies” marathon, which will raise money for Save a Yorkie Resuce, »

Exciting news for horror fans today. John Carpenter, director of the original 1978 horror classic Halloween is returning to the franchise as an executive producer. This latest reboot, which was once called Halloween Returns, is now at Blumhouse, with Miramax co-financing development and production. Malek Akkad will produce the sequel under his Trancas International Films banner. Blumhouse founder Jason Blum is also producing.
The new Halloween movie does not have a set release date yet. Miramax, who continue to hold onto worldwide distribution rights, will determine a theatrical release plan in the near future. Though, there appears to be some confusion as to whether or not this is a true sequel to the original featuring Michael Myers as the iconic slasher, or if this is yet another reboot of the franchise. In a statement, John Carpenter had this to say, hinting that this will be the '10th' sequel.

One of my very favorite horror conventions has always been Flashback Weekend in Chicago, Illinois. For years, I attended Flashback as a fan and for the last six years, it’s been a huge honor for me to head back to serve as one of the convention co-hosts and work with Mike and Mia Kerz, two of the most selfless folks you’ll ever meet working in the industry.
Flashback Weekend will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this August 5th through the 7th and is being held at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare (5440 N. River Road, Chicago). This year’s schedule is shaping up to be yet another incredible time for midwestern horror fans, and there are still many announcements to come! So far, attendees can look forward to a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Scream, with a cast reunion featuring Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, and Matthew Lillard. »
