Every year around this time, we start to settle into some of our well-established family and/or personal traditions and if you're a film fan, odds are your holiday traditions involve watching a favourite flick or two. Inevitably, the discussion around the blogosphere gravitates toward singling out some of the best Christmas movies of all time, but a topic that isn't often addressed is the exact opposite: the worst Christmas movies of all time. And let's face it, there have been plenty of stinkers over the years trying desperately to carve out a piece of that holiday pie. This year Fandango decided to hold a poll on that very subject, and the results were interesting, although probably not that surprising. The 1964 cult classic Santa Claus Conquers the Martians ended up on top with 23% of the votes, while the Hulk Hogan turd Santa with Muscles also figured highly in the voting. »

There's no shortage of Christmas movies to choose from this time of year. In this case, quantity doesn't necessarily equal quality. While classically bad Christmas movies like Santa Buddies, Santa's Slay and the 2006 remake of Black Christmas didn't make the cut, we present the top ten worst Christmas movies that did, courtesy of a poll co-sponsored by WENN. Take a look and let us know if you agree. Which Christmas movies would you add to the list? 1. Santa Claus Conquers The Martians 23% 2. Silent Night, Deadly Night 16% 3. Jingle All The Way 10% 4. Jack Frost 9% 5. Santa With Muscles 5% 6. Ernest Saves Christmas 5% 7. Home Alone 3 4% 8. Deck The Halls 4% 9. Surviving Christmas 3% 10. Christmas With The Kranks...

Festive flop Santa Claus Conquers The Martians has topped a new poll to find the worst Christmas movie ever made.
Movie website Fandango.com teamed up with WENN to find the ultimate holiday turkey and the 1964 Nicholas Webster film was the clear 'winner'.
In fact the film, which picked up 23 per cent of the total vote, was always out in front - ahead of Christmas non-crackers like Silent Night, Deadly Night and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Jingle All The Way.
The poll launched on 1 December and more than 3,000 film fans voted. Here are the results:
1. Santa Claus Conquers The Martians
2. Silent Night, Deadly Night

Christmas is a time for tradition – presents, decorations, carols, and mince pies. But what better tradition to celebrate than the Christmas movie? Join The Hollywood News for the Movie Advent Calendar – a film each day ’til Christmas. For the full Advent Calendar so far, click here.
When compiling a list of one’s favourite festive cinematic offerings there are many important factors to take into consideration; does it evoke a sense of child-like wonder and magic even in the most stoic of hum buggerer? Is it a heart-warming tale that inspires goodwill amongst all men? And perhaps most importantly, is it chock full of slapstick kids comedy that’s seems surprisingly funny, but probably only because it’s on at 11am on Christmas and your already a little a bit tipsy from eggnog and mulled wine?
It is with these considerations in mind, a whole hunk of nostalgia and a »

One thing I learned while writing my holiday film guide “Have Yourself a Movie Little Christmas” is that there are two kinds of plots in this sub-genre with a tendency to stink on ice: movies about Santa, and anything where somebody has to save Christmas. The fact that “Arthur Christmas” delights, despite being both a Santa story and a somebody-saves-Christmas adventure, would be reason enough for celebration, but that’s putting too fine a point on it. The funny, exciting, »
